Commander Report
04/19/2013
Liz Mitchell
Last night, Santiago, James, Brad, and Kyle did an astronomy EVA. They saw Jupiter, Saturn, and the
moon. They came back extremely excited and pumped. We plan for our last astronomy EVA this
evening. Kyle and James will man the hab tonight.
Today we went on our last EVA. Santiago, Brad, Jennifer, and I went on the EVA to Pinto Chasma.
Santiago collected the last samples for his research project. We also looked for future EVAs and
research project.
This afternoon, I finished the Mars cookbook. Everyone else worked on finalizing their research. I
also took a low food inventory and a expired food inventory. These have been sent in a previous
report.
This evening, we will have our last dinner on Mars. We will also have a very large cleaning spree,
to leave the place very clean for the next crew.
We are all very happy and thankful for this experience, and hope we can inspire future people to
take up the Mars banner, as well as to come to MDRS for future research.
