discovered evidence of ancient, large animal life on Mars and fossilized
trees.

Transit Mode: ATV

Leader: Paula Crock, Suit 2
Nav & Steno: Dan Wilcox, Suit 3
Waypoints

3. FAR NW FORK 12S 0516100 4254380

6. ROAD FORK 4 12S 0517137 4254562
7. HAB 12S 0518231 4250723
Objectives
1. Locate possible road forks on roadbed north of the Hab
2. Locate an entrance to the Crescent Canyon at 12S 0514353 4249172
3. Identify sites for future investigation
Results
Locate the north western road fork located by EVA Sol 12 A and located
suitable roadbeds on the plains to the west of the Hab. We did not have
time to locate the entrance to the crescent shaped box canyon due to
difficult navigation on plains above Hab -- roads are not clear and are
hard to identify in places.
Lessons Learned
Road identification / navigation can be difficult due to wash-outs and
disuse. Assuming that tracks from previous vehicles indicate roads can be
an error.
