Commander Report
02/19/2013
Kent Nebergall
We spent the morning with a mixed in sim/engineering EVA to work with the Max Rover. By moving the Wi-Fi hub to the observatory,
we were able to boost the range of the controller from the Hab to the rock field directly East for filming and for the rock analysis
study.
The afternoon EVA involved Dennis, Ase, Tristan, Paula, and Audrey. They visited the fault line by the canyon we explored a couple
days ago. The details will be in the next EVA report from Dennis.
I confirmed the video we got from the rover study is worth using, and completed a draft of the gypsum drilling study.
We considered this a bonus day to get caught up on field work, considering the storm we expect tonight at 11 PM. We have a
teleconference with the European sponsors of this mission at 7:30 AM, though obviously from here it will be text-based. Apart from
that, tomorrow may be catch-up and clean-up day.
