March 15th,
We tried calling delivery service to order pizza to no avail, so we made one! Yesterday's dinner was
homemade pizza. Yes, we have the necessary ingredients to cook almost every continent's food.
Another success was this morning's pancakes; finally well done. This looks more like a cuisine
expedition than Mars expedition, but fear not. We worked really hard to finish the stretcher adapter
with a nice futuristic cover. Today's EVA was in charge of Andrea and Monica. We also worked in some
outreach presentations. While working on the stretcher, power suddenly went out. We feared the worst.
No electricity equals no heating system, no water pumping, no oxygen supply, no life on Mars. Both
crew engineers hurried to the Engineering Dock and were surprised to find the water tank refiled. It
turned out that the blackout was caused by our invisible caretaker: D.G., while doing maintenance on
the power generator. After that, everything went back to normal.
The crew is steadily getting used to life on Mars. First days felt so long, but now time passes quite
fast. Sometimes I wonder if you can find the meaning of life in this Zen state of mind. Calmly listen
to your spirit and maybe the answer will be... 42!
