Notes:
Last night before eating dinner, I was looking for some ingredients in the food cabinets and a tuna
can fell on my right feet. This time I was in much pain than when I got burned the day before. I
didn’t apply any medicine and today I woke up feeling better.
Today once again we woke up in good physical and emotional shape. I woke up with a little rash in my
neck due to my necklace so I used some triple antibiotic ointment for pain reliever.
When going on an EVA yesterday I realized my eyes started to get teary. It was difficult for me to
see well so I recommend in the future the first aid kits to have eyes drops to solve the teary eyes
problems. If we cannot see properly when driving the ATV this could become a serious issue for the
crewmembers’ safety.
Even though we are resting an average of 9 hours per day, we are beginning to feel a little fatigue
and body pain. The body pain can be due to the exercise we did two days ago after several days
without having physical activity but the fatigue may be for not drinking enough water combined with
the exhaustion because of our daily activities.
At 10 am the XO, EVA engineer and crew engineer were preparing for their second EVA to simulate
emergency situations in places farther than yesterday’s EVA. The crew engineer got a small cut in
his middle finger. I immediately cleaned the wound with rubbing alcohol, put antibacterial ointment
and after it was dry I put a band aid to cover it.
At 10:45 am the crewmembers were ready to go on the EVA. I recommended my crew –from my EVA
experience yesterday- to attach their keys to the EVA suit so they did it using 0.1 inch rope. After
they finished the EVA they told me the key-rope-suit device worked. Before they were on the road I
put sunscreen and an extra par or batteries in the first aid kit in case the GPS dies or they need
