EVA Report

EVA 006 excitedly got suited up around 1:15 this afternoon. We woke up hoping to do a morning EVA and we thought it would be canceled due to weather. It was a great Christmas Eve surprise present.
We trekked to Hab Ridge and made it up the snowy slope. Once on the high ground we went north - our other EVAs on Hab Ridge have been south. The snow made it difficult to see any pretty rocks to pick up for our geologist, but we might have found a couple small pieces of gypsum. April noticed some fossilized shells that clearly showed the bivalve's cause of death. There was a small hole where a carnivorous snail punctured the protective shell.
After exploring our destination to satisfaction we had extra time to entertain the film crew. We went south along the ridge and April and John posed near the edge of the cliff and read the map. Then returned to the hab and had warm cups of tea.
On a side note, next time I go on an EVA I am going to tape a tissue to the inside of my helmet.
