It's 2014 already?

It is!

Happy New Year, everybody!

As you can see, I've changed the layout quite a bit for this special, making the largest str'p so far at 7/8 panels depending on how you count. (Obviously, that made it take a lot longer to make than most str'ps.) And yes, that firework panel is copied shamelessly from the December calendar, because I liked it. ;)

This is the first explicit mention of the field of asafeiology, but I've known that's what they research ever since I named their lab. Asafei Science is named after the field. That said, asafeiology is not real; Cal started it, but I don't think it's getting much recognition in the science communities.

If you want to know where "asafei" comes from, I'm sure Google can help. The Greek letters read as "asáfeia". I pronounce "Asafei (Science)" as "ah-sah-FAY" (and "ah-sah-fay-O-lo-gy"), even though the original Greek word is apparently "ah-SAH-fee-ya". Um... Blame Cal for not knowing proper Greek pronunciation!
