Commentary
There will be no Saturday str'p this week because I'm going away for the weekend and likely won't have much access to the internet or Com'c files. Sorry!
Meet Iris! She's an asafeiologist working in Team B (of which Ella is in charge), who doesn't really care about much at all... except she has an obsession with eyes.
I can't say that three hairs sticking down on each side of her head is entirely unrelated to the hairstyle of El Goonish Shive's Ashley. It's likely that I got some indirect inspiration from Ashley's design. Ashley's design is much cooler, though. (But believe me, this "parallel" does not reflect Iris' personality at all. Com'c's Iris and EGS's Ashley are very different.)
I tried to find more ways to express her sudden change in energeticestosityness* than just her mouth, such as by having a bunch of hairs stand up, but it wound up looking just weird.
*: "My word processor's spell check insists that "casualest" isn't a word. I stand by the logic that adding "est", "osity" and "ness" to any existing word makes a new and totally valid word (assuming the result isn't already a different word).
