I guess that answers that question. It was quite an obvious answer, so I did consider not explicitly answering it, but it was convenient for this str'p.

This is the first non-special appearance of the undead batteries. I doubt it's all that surprising that Vee managed to befriend them (if you can call addressing someone as "Lady Vee Consumer" friendship) and find a way to communicate with them. I don't think the batteries are actually speaking, though.

There are several reasons behind their reaction to the claim that "climbing is fun" - for one thing, note that the batteries are 'armless.
