The Zeroth Law of Trope Examples, "Shakespeare did it first" (or at least before you), is just for fun and not meant to be taken seriously. Even so, it's surprisingly accurate. Shakespeare used very many tropes in his works. Did you for example think "yo mama" jokes were new? Shakespeare did them, and they appear to predate even him by at least three thousand years.
