This is what writer's block (in this case combined with waking up late and having badly timed dinner) does to me: Because I try to keep updating, I have to go with mediocre ideas. Hopefully I'll get over the block soon and start giving you somewhat better content.

I hope Victor's laughter in panel three makes it clear enough that this is just John joking around. In the original form of the idea, however, Victor didn't say anything in panel two, and John would be gone in panel three. The next str'p would have a couple of beat panels of Victor alone, with John returning in panel three with the line "Never mind." I'm not really sure if that would be better or worse than what I went with, but it would certainly be weirder and less in character for John (it would not be a problem with Vee, however, but I've focused a bit too much on her lately).
