I tried my best to make the str'ps speak for themselves, but if it isn't clear enough from the dialogue, Marc saw panel 3 of the previous str'p through the half-open rooftop exit, without Leonard or John noticing that. John is walking through that door in panel 2, noticing Marc halfway through the word "door".

John making a reference to the "doesn't wear a mask" joke was inevitable. Even if I had deemed it not fitting for this str'p, I would have found some way to have him say it at some other point in the storyline. Fortunately, I think it's entirely in character for him to say it right here and now. After all, smiles and jokes can be deceptive.
