Don't panic!

Commentary

This is (unless proven otherwise) literally the worst possible way I could handle the semi-obligatory Douglas Adams/Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference at #42.

In the fourth book of the series, one possible ultimate question (which would have the answer 42) was proposed to be six times nine. That's of course 54, but some fans speculated on the fact that this math actually works out in base 13. To this, Douglas Adams said "I may be a sorry case, but I don't write jokes in base 13."

This str'p is the result of me getting the idea around midnight, as well as originally basing it on a misquote; I'd read it as "Nobody writes jokes in base 13." somewhere. But then I did a little research, and "nobody" wasn't part of it, which ruined my punchline of "Take that, Douglas Adams!" (pretty bad to begin with, anyway).

So, yeah. Block is right in panel 3, and I kind of feel like I've betrayed Jane's intellect by having her make such a horrible "joke". Sorry, Jane!

Other stuff

About the stuff introduced here:

The e-mail subscription seems to be working okay. It looks like it sends the updates around 10 AM CET, which I think is midnight Google time. That makes sense, since Google provides the option.

The comment board is predictably untouched since I added it except by me and NNF. Come on, people! I would love to hear what you have to say about Com'c! :-)
