Some of my readers were surprised that Jane's actions in the previous str'p didn't cause the Oddevice to go off.* It looks like they spoke too soon, and so did Jane...

*: This is not the main reason I made this str'p.

Hammering an Oddevice was pretty reckless of Jane. It's a mysterious device they know very little about - Where do they come from? What is their purpose? Are they magical? - so what if the effects of hammering it could hurt someone? She had no way of knowing. So please, if you have devices with possibly magical effects randomly appearing in your house, don't try this at home.
