Vote, ya carrot.

Commentary

The phenomenon John is describing in panel two, where a term is misused as derogatory to the point of being replaced with a euphemism which then goes through the same process, is called the euphemism treadmill. Another example is the word for people who have suffered a life-changing injury, which has changed from "crippled" to "disabled" to "handicapped" to "physically challenged". Fairly recently, terms like "handi-capable" (seriously?) and "differently abled" have been proposed, but thankfully people seem to agree that that's taking it too far.
