Welcome to Com'c! Com'c is an odd webcomic centered around a group of neighbors in an apartment building in Hereton City.

Com'c has no ongoing storyline, but reading it in order is recommended nonetheless. Click here to start at the beginning:

As you're probably aware, there have been three update days without updates in a row now. Today, December 3rd, would be the fourth. Saturday would be very likely to be the fifth, on account of school work, and I know next week will probably involve a lot of other schoolwork potentially getting in the way of Com'c.

In fact, there have been a lot of schedule slips these last few months, for various reasons. It's a real shame this had to happen while I was doing a storyline, but, maybe ironically, the storyline itself is one of many reasons this has been happening. I messed up by turning it into a storyline in the first place. I have had little motivation to continue it and few ideas, making it that much more tempting for me to use whatever excuse was there on a given day and skip the update, despite feeling bad about it. I do want to end it properly, though, which is the main reason I haven't just dropped it.

So what I've decided to do is put Com'c on a short hiatus, in order to finish the school semester and regain myself a bit. The hiatus will last at least until December 18th, i.e. a little more than two weeks, but I might extend it to Christmas Eve or even until next year, in which case might still be a Christmas special. In any case, I don't want it to last longer than about a month from now, at most. (Incidentally, I turn 18 in exactly a month. It's terrifying.)

Thank you for all of your patience.

Finally. How to continue on this str'p has been bothering me for over a week and caused several failed updates. The end result isn't particularly humorous, but at least it's progress on the storyline.

Lenny... Lenny, that's rude. Come back here!

Dammit.

I really need to figure out how to continue the storyline soon, or we're going to be stuck here for a while.

And I haven't managed to make any progress on that today, so sorry, no str'p tonight. :/

- Beginning of this storyline (it is indeed sleep o'clock)

Yes. Yes, I did. (Although I am somewhat regretting that I turned it into a storyline, but that has nothing to do with the time of night in-universe.)

I originally titled this str'p "Insomnia", but then I realized I had used that title before. The new title has less to do with trouble sleeping, but I think the change is actually somewhat helpful, as it ties more into something that might not be implied strongly enough in the str'p itself.

Let's just say that voices from two floors below are not the main thing keeping Block awake tonight, and leave it at that.

What's going on

posted Nov 19, 2015, 10:22 AM by Krixwell Jace

Tonight's str'p is (further) postponed to tomorrow (Friday, November 20).

I'm back to my normal health and in a good mood, but I have some trouble even starting work on the str'p tonight, for a couple of different reasons. One of them, which - alongside the sickness - has been a contributing factor to the recent update deficiency, is that this storyline is not all that fun for me to make anymore. If I wasn't in the middle of it, I'd probably just break it off and do something else. Don't worry, though, I intend to finish the storyline properly.

Actually, maybe that's the only reason, because the main other reason is lack of concentration. Besides sickness and tiredness, one of the main causes for lacking concentration is not enjoying what I'm doing enough. Especially as an ADHD person, concentration is tightly linked to enjoyment. (The attention deficit part of ADHD isn't just an inability to concentrate on things: We can go into a state called hyperfocus, where we block out the world around us and focus intensely on something we enjoy. Unfortunately, the things we're inclined to hyperfocusing on are often not particularly productive.)

Another part of why I'm choosing to postpone it to tomorrow is the fact that tomorrow is a planning day at my school, so I'll have much of the day to do it.

After this, I hope to get my schedule back on track, but in a little over a week, school is apparently going to get hectic. It's so dumb how we have little homework most of the year - despite the claims in the previous section of the Norwegian educational system that the workload was going to get enormous in progressing school, especially the part of it I'm attending - but then there are these few weeks near the ends of each term with so much to do. So yeah, we'll see how well my schedule fares when that time comes.

Thank you all for your patience.

Still sick

posted Nov 14, 2015, 10:26 AM by Krixwell Jace

Sorry, but no str'p today. I'm still a bit sick. However, I do feel somewhat better today, so if I'm not jinxing it right now, there's a reasonable chance Monday's update will be up as normal.

In a sense, this could be considered one of the most time-consuming str'ps in Com'c history. I started work on it almost a week ago, but a few different circumstances -including me getting sick - led to it not being finished until now. And even today, it took quite some time, as I don't seem to be completely rid of that sickness yet. (Don't worry, I'm fine. It's just a cold or something.)

I don't really have much else to say about the str'p itself, which is good, because I'm hungry. See ya!

(Note to self: Add transcript. Note to you: Feel free to bug me about it if I don't add one within a couple of updates. Thanks!)

No str'p / postponed

posted Nov 7, 2015, 10:31 AM by Krixwell Jace

I'm sorry to have to cancel two updates in a row, but I have no concentration or motivation to finish the str'p right now. I've been sitting here for hours, but all I have is an incomplete first panel where the only progress is the placement of the characters into it.

I suspect this is related to the fact that I've been feeling mildly ill today. I also think that, in turn, might be related to the headache I had on Thursday, which would probably have prevented me from making a str'p if the birthday party hadn't already.

In short, I'm not feeling up to the task of continuing work on Com'c tonight. I will see what I can do tomorrow.

John and Lenny may look identical, but they have rather different personalities.

I tried to add "unless of course you just want to go back to sleep", but it sounded awkward from John, made Marc's reply awkward and was awkward to fit into the panel. The situation was, generally speaking, awkward.

You know, much like Marc and Lenny's interaction in this str'p.
