Conventional talk therapy can be helpful, but often common talk therapy does not alter the underlying structure that is the real cause of your emotional suffering.

The same can be said for medications - prescription medications may relieve symptoms for a while, but medications can not heal the underlying process that generates your emotional suffering.

The style of psychotherapy that I offer is called Mindfulness Therapy, which is quite effective for controlling chronic anxiety and for treating chronic depression or other emotional issues caused by conditioned reactive thinking. Most people notice significant reduction in the level of anxiety and depression after 3-4 sessions of Skype Therapy.

If you're interested in online psychotherapy and counseling to help you overcome anxiety or depression or an addiction or any other emotional problem, you might consider talking to a therapist online. Being able to talk to a therapist online is really quite an effective way of getting the help that you need to to manage difficult emotional problems. I see clients online on a daily basis and have done so for many years now and it's definitely just as effective to speak to a therapist online as it is to see the therapist in-person.

The focus of the online therapy service that I offer is to teach you practical ways of managing difficult emotions. The principal habit that most people experience is one of becoming identified with emotions and with reactive thoughts. We tend to get lost in these patterns of habitual reactivity that simply feed our anxiety or depression, so the the most essential step in successful psychotherapy is to learn how to break the cycle of reactive identification, to be able to become the observer of your emotions and thoughts without becoming lost in them.

This is essential because if you continue to simply become lost in thoughts or emotions or emotional trauma then you simply reinforce the underlying emotions. During mindfulness therapy, which is what I specialize in, we learn exactly how to do this, how to become the observer and how to develop independence in relationship to our emotions. This is the most important step for producing change.

If you like to see a therapist online and learn some of the mindfulness techniques that I teach to please go to my website and email me. We can schedule a Skype counseling session at a time that works for you. I see people throughout North America and abroad in Europe and the Middle East and as far away as New Zealand. So if you are interested in learning how to overcome the patterns of emotional reactivity and you'd like to talk to a therapist online please email me and we can schedule a session.

Skype with a psychotherapist online for anxiety and depression

Contact me if you would like to talk to a therapist online for help with anxiety or depression or if you would like to speak with a therapist for online help for recovery from an addiction.

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I provides online psychotherapy for the treatment of anxiety and depression. If you'd like to talk to a therapist online for anxiety or if you'd like to speak to a therapist online for help with depression or if you'd like to talk with a therapist online for help with recovery from an addiction, then I invite you to go to my website and read more about online therapy and how it can help you overcome your anxiety or depression or addiction or other emotional problems.

My clients really enjoy talking to a therapist online because it's more convenient. It's easier to fit into a busy work schedule, and it's also very much more comfortable for you because you can have your session from home. You don't have to travel to a clinic or a therapist's office. So it's also generally less intimidating talking via Skype than it is talking in person. And this is quite important especially if you're working with anxiety, depression or addiction. People are often very uncomfortable about their emotional states and they don't like talking to a person directly. It's therefore a lot easier to talk about your emotional well-being online.

Also the style of therapy that I provide is not readily available, is called mindfulness therapy, and many people specifically choose this approach for working with anxiety or depression or addiction.

So mindfulness therapy is really quite different than traditional talk therapy or counseling. It's very different than psychoanalysis. It's not a process of trying to explain why you feel anxiety or depression, it is not trying to uncover the past or analyze your upbringing. Instead mindfulness therapy focuses on what you can do right now to change the psychological habits that are creating your anxiety or depression or the psychological habits that are fueling your addiction.

So during mindfulness therapy sessions I will teach you very practical ways of working with your emotions using mindfulness. The results are quite spectacular. Most people see very fast progress and generally I expect you to see significant changes in the intensity of your anxiety or depression within three to four sessions. I think that's quite important. You should see results. Psychotherapy should not be a process that takes countless sessions over the years to achieve results.

To me that simply indicates an inefficient process. Learning how to work with your emotions and overcoming anxiety or depression or addiction is simply a function of learning practical and effective strategic methods. And that's what we teach during online therapy sessions.

If you'd like to learn more and you are interested in talking to a therapist online via Skype then simply go to my website and send me an email and we can schedule an online therapy session at a time that works for you. Thank you.

Traditional counseling can be useful, but often it does not look at the underlying psychological process that is the real cause of your emotional suffering.

This also applies to the use of medications - a drug may provide temporary relief from symptoms for a while, but medications are not effective for transforming the underlying psychological process that causes your emotional pain.

The style of psychotherapy that I teach online is called Mindfulness Therapy, which is quite successful for handling chronic anxiety and for treating chronic depression and other common psychological difficulties caused by conditioned negative thinking. Most of my students notice measurable reduction in the level of anxiety and depression after the first couple of sessions of Skype Therapy.

If you are experiencing anxiety or panic attacks or depression you may consider talking to a therapist online. Seeing a therapist online is a very good and very convenient way of getting help and it's generally a lot less intimidating than going to see a therapist in person. So if you'd like to talk to a therapist online do please go to my website and then learn more about this process of Skype counseling that I offer and then e-mail me and we can schedule a time when we can have an online therapy session.

So the advantages of talking to a therapist online, as I said are ones of convenience and also it's much more comfortable for you. But it also helps you develop a better understanding of how to work with the mind.

So during the online therapy sessions I teach you very effective mindfulness-based methods for working with anxiety and depression. Most of my clients suffer from either anxiety or depression and they benefit tremendously when they start practicing the mindfulness techniques that I teach.

The central most important thing is to learn how to develop a conscious and friendly relationship with your emotions. The biggest mistake that I see over and over again is that people develop an aversion to their anxiety or depression, they run away from their emotions or they find them or they react to their anxiety with anger or hostility or resistance or self-criticism, etc.

The process of reactivity feeds the anxiety or depression. It only begins to change when you change your relationship to your emotions, so that's why it's so important to develop conscious and frankly relationship with your emotions. Then you create the right conditions in which they can change.

And this is the whole basis of mindfulness therapy we learned to actually meditate on our anxiety and on how depression and any other emotions or thoughts that create suffering in the mind. We learned to develop balance in relationship to our emotions and our thoughts.

Learn how to break free from this process of habitual reactivity that feeds the anxiety or depression. When you do that then you stop feeding the fire of the anxiety or depression or any other emotion. When you stop feeding it, it begins to change and it begins to heal. So the second part of mindfulness therapy is learning how to help it heal, how to help your anxiety or depression heal itself.

And I will teach you exactly how to do this during these online therapy sessions. So, if you'd like to talk to a therapist online and you'd like to learn more about online psychotherapy in general, then please go to my website, and when you are ready to start you can email me and we can schedule a Skype therapy session. Thank you.

Talk to a Therapist Online via Skype for Anxiety or Depression

If you'd like to talk to a psychotherapist online through Skype I invite you to go to my website and learn more about the mindfulness based psychotherapy that I offer through Skype.

Mindfulness psychotherapy is a very effective approach for helping you manage anxiety and depression without using medications. As you well know medications may provide a temporary relief from symptoms but medications are not going to address the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression or other form of emotional suffering.

That underlying cause is psychological in nature. Essentially it's a habit. We develop habits based around fear. That's probably the most common core emotion behind anxiety and depression and many other of our problems. We become embroiled in this inner fear which then takes on many different forms as reactive thinking, other forms of emotional reactivity and also behaviors based around fear like avoidance and hatred and also addictions as well, another kind of behavioral reactivity based on fear primarily.

So when we are working with our emotions we work on changing this fear. We try to establish a relationship with that part of us that is in fear that is experiencing fear. We learn to comfort that we learn to help it heal, which can only happen when you esstablish a very strong conscious and compassionate relationship with your fear.

When you do this you provide the right vehicle that allows that fear to begin to heal itself. When you establish a really good mindful relationship with your fear then the rate of healing is greatly accelerated.

Mindfulness is all about building this quality of compassionate and non-reactive relationship with your mind, with your emotions, with your thoughts, with your beliefs, with your memories, whatever constitutes the content of your mind. We build a relationship with that content using mindfulness. It's really a way of establishing a non-reactive conscious awareness and this is absolutely essential for healing.

When you bring mindfulness to fear or anxiety or depression it begins to heal and that rate of healing is greatly accelerated, as I said. So during sessions I will teach you how to use mindfulness to do this. How to actually meditate on your emotions, to meditate on that fear. That's the most important practical skill that I will teach you.

You have to learn to actively engage with the fear, but not become overwhelmed by it. And that is the first purpose of meditating on your fear. It is learning how not to become overwhelmed by your fear, how not to become reactive and how not to allow that fear to propagate into cognitive reactivity or further emotional reactivity or behavioral reactivity.

So that's essential. We learn to build or non-reactive relationship with our fear and then we help it heal through the medium of compassion. Now compassion here is specifically helping that emotion change in a direction that helps it heal. How we do that is something that we open up to discover through meditating on the emotion. We learn what is effective in helping it to heal.

The most effective thing we can do is to build a non-reactive relationship to it. This is the equivalent of being like a parent to a child. A child is suffering but the parent doesn't react to that suffering. Instead he or she responds to that suffering with compassion and responds in a way that helps that child relieve his or her suffering.

So that's what we have to do internally. We have to become like a parent to our emotional pain and to our fear, to our anxiety, to our depression. Whatever it is we have to build that parent child type relationship. That's the first essential thing we must do if we want it to heal.

If we try to avoid it or we try to talk it away or we distract ourselves through some practice or other or through drugs or alcohol, that will not create the right relationship and it will not heal the underlying fear, and usually you will end up amplifying that fear.

So meditation is central. Learning to be with your fear without reacting and with compassion. Now this is a skill. You will have to work on this, but I will teach you in great detail exactly how to do this.
