Everyone that I have worked with really benefits from the mindfulness approach that I teach for healing emotional suffering…

”The thing that distinguishes Peter’s approach from other forms of therapy is that the results are pretty much instant, but you are still working with your emotions at a very deep level (unlike, for example, CBT) so are able to create lasting change.”

Talk to an Online Therapist via Skype for effective help with anxiety and depression

Conventional talk therapy can be beneficial, but often it does not alter the the underlying process that creates your anxiety and depression.

This also applies to the use of medications -  anti-anxiety medications may reduce symptoms for a while, but medications  will not are not effective for healing the underlying process that generates your anxiety or depression.

The school of psychotherapy that I teach online is called Mindfulness Therapy, which can be very powerful for overcoming chronic anxiety as well as for treating chronic depression or other common psychological issues resulting from conditioned negative thinking. Most of my students see quite significant changes after the first couple of sessions of Mindfulness Therapy.

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional online psychotherapist. If you would like to talk to a psychotherapist online do please go to my website and send me an email and then we can schedule a Skype therapy session.

I have been offering online psychotherapy for many years now and have seen tremendous benefits for my clients. There is no doubt that the online therapy format using Skype is just as effective as in-person psychotherapy, especially for the style of therapy that I offer, which is called Mindfulness Therapy.

This is dependent less on developing a relationship with your therapist and more on teaching you practical skills that you can use to overcome difficult emotions such as chronic anxiety or depression. And that, I feel is the most important thing - to give you the tools that will help you overcome your specific emotional problems, and that can be taught very well online.

So, Mindfulness Therapy is a way of working with emotions like anxiety and depression, or addiction or compulsion or phobias or panic attacks. It's a way of working with difficult emotions by essentially changing the habit of the way that we react to these emotions.

So, emotions get triggered by thoughts or by external events and then we get lost in the conditioned reactions that ensue.

As Victor Frankl said in his famous quote, there is a space between stimulus and reaction and in that space there is choice. That space is what we develop during mindfulness training. It is the space of consciousness. It is the space that opens up when we become mindful of the triggers that trigger our anxiety or depression or compulsion, and the subjective emotional reactions that are conditioned to those triggers.

We can become mindful of both, both the triggers and our habitual reactions. When you become mindful you break that chain of reactivity that feeds and reinforces anxiety or depression, and that is a very important step. The most important step of all, really, is to break that habit that feeds and proliferates emotional suffering.

When you develop a conscious and mindful relationship with your anxiety or depression then that brings in the other factor associated with consciousness, which is choice - Choice to respond to your anxiety, or to the triggers, or to negative thought patterns, or negative behaviors - the choice to respond in ways that are not reactive but are imbued with natural innate intelligence.

You can begin to change those patterns into more positive patterns if you have choice, and that is the second factor of Mindfulness Therapy. It is a way of developing more choice in how you relate to your mind and to the triggers that triggered those emotional reactions.

Most of my clients have tried medications and conventional talk therapy / counseling but have not received the relief they want. This is understandable, because mediations and indirect talking about your emotions is not sufficient to change the underlying habitual process that creates and feeds anxiety and depression. You need to address these directly, and this is the focus of Mindfulness Therapy, the approach that I favor and find to be most effective for producing lasting change.

I specialize in mindfulness therapy. Mindfulness is an extremely effective way of changing habits. It allows you to develop a conscious and compassionate relationship with your emotions and with your thoughts. And this is essential. You have to learn how to sit with your emotions and thoughts without becoming identified with them and without becoming reactive. If you can do that then you stop feeding those habits, basically.

And this creates the ideal conditions whereby the habit of anxiety or depression or any other emotional psychological form of suffering will begin to resolve itself. If you don't feed it it will resolve itself. Also if you stop feeding it and you establish a good relationship with your emotions then you're in a much better position to be able to help your emotions resolve themselves.

You learn how to interact with them with more consciousness and more compassion the same way that you might relate to a child or another person who is in pain. If you are reactive you are not going to be able to help them overcome their emotional suffering. You have to be non-reactive in your relationship to them and it's exactly the same with our emotions.

We have to learn to be non-reactive in relationship to our anxiety of fear of panic or depression or obsessions with the ever emotional suffering that you are experiencing. You have to establish a good relationship with them then you can actually help those emotions change themselves and heal. This is one of the central themes in Mindfulness Therapy is building this relationship.

And the second important concept for you to understand is that your anxiety, your depression, your suffering is already trying to heal itself. It's only because of the problem of reactivity that gets in the way of it healing itself. So that's a very important thing to understand. It's not so much us trying to fix or change her anxiety or depression, it's allowing them to change and heal in a natural way by themselves, and the less reactive you become the the more this happens.

The most important key to overcoming anxiety and panic attacks is to break the habit of reactive identification with emotions and thoughts when they get triggered. Mindfulness training is the best approach for doing this.

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I'm a professional online therapist specializing in mindfulness therapy for the treatment of anxiety and depression without the use of medications. This is a non-medical approach and it's based on the teachings of mindfulness therapy.

This is a system that I developed many years ago and I've been offering online for many years and proves to be very effective indeed for working with anxiety and panic attacks and depression and many other common emotional problems that benefit from mindfulness training.

If you'd like to talk to a therapist online to learn how to manage your anxiety and panic attacks better, then please go to my website and email me to schedule a session. You will be quite surprised at how quickly you can overcome anxiety and also panic attacks once you start applying mindfulness. It's a really remarkable set of tools that helps you prevent that problem that we call Reactive Identification, which is really at the center of anxiety reactivity for most people.

The problem is that we become identified with our anxiety, we collapse into our anxiety, we become captured by our anxiety, we become prisoners of our anxiety, and this process is called Reactive Identification, and it's basically simply a habit. Now with mindfulness training you will learn how to stop this habit so that you can essentially become an OBSERVER of your anxiety and other emotions.

You become an observer of your thoughts without becoming identified and overwhelmed by them. This is a key step that's necessary for changing the habits of anxiety panic attacks and also for depression.

You have to break free from the habit of becoming overwhelmed by emotional reactivity and also cognitive reactivity. You have to learn to maintain balance in relationship to the mind. This is much easier than you might think. The problem, simply, is that most people are not given the guidance in how to do this.

Talking therapy can be useful but often it simply does not help you break free from that problem of reactive identification. Also, medications do little to nothing to change the underlying habit of identification that triggers anxiety and depression and panic attacks and OCD and all of these other kinds of habitual emotional reactions.

So, if you like to really learn how to manage your anxiety and panic attacks better, then please email me. Let's schedule a trial session so you can see for yourself just how effective the mindfulness approach can be.

Visit my Skype counseling website and contact me now to ask your questions about online mindfulness-based psychotherapy via Skype. This service is very effective for anxiety and panic attacks and other anxiety disorders, and depression without the need for medications, which do not change the underlying habits that cause anxiety, panic attacks and depression.

This online therapy service is available throughout the USA, UK and Europe and world-wide. All you need is a reliable internet connection and you are ready to begin online therapy with Dr.Peter Strong.

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I am professional online therapist. I offer online therapy through Skype as an alternative method to help you mange anxiety or depression. If you would like to talk to a therapist online please go to my website and email me. Tell me about yourself and how I can help you and I will be happy to correspond with you first of all to answer your questions about online therapy and how to work with an online therapist.

The style of psychotherapy that I offer online is called Mindfulness Therapy and this is a form of cognitive therapy, or CBT, but it has much more focus on working with difficult emotions. It allows you to learn how to break free from patterns of emotional reactivity. It allows you to actually build a relationship with your difficult emotions, with your anxiety or depression or addiction without becoming overwhelmed by those emotions. And, this is an essential first step in recovery and in changing anxiety and depression.

If you want to break free from anxiety or depression or other difficult emotions you must establish a conscious and non-reactive relationship with your emotions.

Most of the time we don't do this. We fall into habits of aversion or avoidance; we don't like painful emotions, we try to run away from them, we try to suppress them, avoid them at all costs. But this has very negative consequences. If you avoid your emotions they cannot heal; they require your conscious awareness in order to change, in order to heal.

So, a very important part of Mindfulness Therapy is bringing this quality of consciousness to your emotions so that the healing process can take place. So, establishing Right Relationship with emotions is extremely important.

Most people using the Mindfulness Therapy approach that I offer online really enjoy this approach and they see tremendous benefits from their online therapy sessions very early on. The style of therapy is very much more focused than traditional talk therapy; it's really focused on changing those underlying patterns of emotional reactivity by directly working with emotions.

So, if you would like to schedule an online therapy session please contact me and introduce yourself and then we can find a time that works for you.

All you need for online therapy is an internet connection, Skype, of course, and PayPal to make your payments after completion of each session. Now, the first session is a Trial Session, which means that there is no upfront payment. Payment is dependent on satisfaction, so it is a way of trying this form of online Skype therapy to see if it works for you, to see if it is the right approach for you. And, if it's not there is no charge, but is it is and you wish to continue with me, and this is certainly the case for all of my clients - they really enjoy this approach and wish to continue working with me online - then you would pay for this session and we would schedule another session for the following week. Typically I see people once a week, usually sessions are between 60 and 90 minutes.

The purpose of the sessions, remember, is to help you better manage anxiety or depression; that's my function as an online therapist, and during these sessions I will teach you very practical mindfulness-based methods for working with anxiety and depression so that you can reduce the intensity of your anxiety or depression and eventually break free from these patterns of emotional reactivity altogether. Most people see significant improvements within 3-4 sessions.
