Everyone that I have seen over the years really enjoys the mindfulness approach that I teach for healing emotional suffering…

"I came to Peter desperate, my last hope. I had tried other therapies that failed me: Peter’s approach is just what I needed. Instead of fighting the anxiety and trying to push it away or cover it up, you become conscious of it and give it the space that it needs. Eventually it dissipates. It sounds counter-intuitive, but it is the key… and it works! I am real proof. I am now happier and more content than I have ever been in my life."

Talk to an online therapist via Skype for the treatment of anxiety and depression

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong. I'm a professional psychotherapist specializing in Buddhist psychotherapy and specifically Mindfulness Therapy, which I offer via Skype for the treatment of anxiety and depression and for addictions and for help with many other psychological problems using the very well respected and well tested methods of Mindfulness Therapy.

So if you'd like to talk to a therapist online, I invite you to look at my website and then contact me if you have any questions and if you would like to schedule a therapy session with me.

So I offer therapy via Skype, and it's really important that you use some video platform like Skype or Face Time or Zoom so that you can see each other. If you can see each other, then online therapy or teletherapy becomes just as effective as meeting with a therapist in person.

It's not necessary to be in the same room, but it is necessary that you can see each other because that is required for good communication and good communication is central for good psychotherapy. So as long as you can see each other, then being able to work with an online therapist is a very good option for you to consider.

Many people like the convenience offered by online therapy. It's just a lot easier to schedule your sessions. You don't have to travel to a therapist's office. You don't have to leave home so it is much easier to integrate your therapy sessions within your busy schedule.

Another advantage is for people who can't leave home for one reason or another. For example, if you are suffering from agoraphobia, then seeking help from an online therapist becomes really essential. If you're suffering from a driving anxiety disorder or phobia around driving, then also being able to talk to a therapist online is an excellent option to help you work with your anxiety and depression and also to work with your driving anxiety specifically.

I actually get a lot of requests from people suffering from driving anxiety, and the Mindfulness Therapy approach that I specialize in has proven to be very effective indeed for treating anxiety disorders, including driving anxiety and agoraphobia.

So the more important factor is the quality and the style of psychotherapy offered by an online therapist or other therapist, in person. That's much more important than whether you are seeing a therapist online or in person. You have to find the right fit for your needs.

So it's really important when you're selecting a psychotherapist to work with that you use your own intuition, your instincts. You find someone that you trust, that says things that resonate with you. Make sure that you get all your questions answered from your perspective therapist. Again, it doesn't matter whether it's online or in person, they need to be able to make you feel comfortable and confident that what they are offering is right for you.

So Mindfulness Therapy is a way of working very directly with your emotions. It's about promoting inner healing of the inner process that causes anxiety or depression or other forms of emotional suffering. And the primary thing we are looking for in Mindfulness Therapy is to develop more conscious awareness. That's what mindfulness is. It's her way of seeing things clearly without becoming lost in habitual patterns of reactivity.

So the primary issue is not the emotional pain, the core emotion itself, it's the reactivity to it that causes the emotional suffering and that prevents the core emotion from healing.

So Mindfulness Therapy is about developing a very direct, conscious, mindful relationship with the underlying emotions that are affecting your experience, that are determining the quality of your life, that are affecting your well-being.

So if you'd like to learn more about how to apply mindfulness for healing, do please contact me. And if you like the idea of being able to talk to a therapist online using Skype, then please reach out to me and schedule a Skype therapy session.

This approach is very effective and most, if not all of my clients benefit immensely from learning how to meditate on their emotions to promote healing. And that can be very specific emotions like agoraphobia and driving anxiety and working with emotional trauma.

I also work with intrusive thoughts and intrusive memories. These are also psychological processes based on blind, habitual reactivity that really benefit tremendously from the application of mindfulness meditation and Mindfulness Therapy.

So please contact me if this interests you and schedule a Skype Therapy session. Thank you.

Talk to an Online Mindfulness Psychotherapist for Managing Anxiety and Depression via Skype

So if you're interested in Mindfulness Therapy and you would like to talk to a psychotherapist like myself who specializes in Mindfulness Therapy for treating anxiety and depression then do please go to my website, learn more about this service and contact me if you would like to schedule some online therapy sessions with me.

So I offer online Mindfulness Therapy using Skype. Skype is important. It makes online therapy much more effective when you can see each other. When you can see each other then there's really no difference between Skype Therapy when compared to meeting a therapist in person.

So Mindfulness Therapy is quite different than conventional talking therapy or counseling that you may have already tried. The whole focus in Mindfulness Therapy is changing the underlying process that causes your anxiety or depression or addiction or whatever form of emotional suffering that you may have.

There's always an underlying process, a psychological process going on that produces that emotional state, and most of the time we are not really very aware of how we create anxiety or depression. It becomes an automatic habit and like all habits it operates out of consciousness, so we're not really aware of how it works.

The whole purpose Mindfulness Therapy is to look very carefully inside to see how it works, to see how the mind creates anxiety or depression or any other form with emotional suffering. And the primary way to do this is through learning how to meditate on our emotions. So this is quite a novel concept for many people. They don't normally think about meditating on their emotions. People are more likely to want to escape from their emotions. But it is very clear from the work that I have done over the years, that the primary problem for healing is avoidance and also aversion, hating the internal emotional pain.

When me react to painful emotions with avoidance or with aversion then that has the definite effect of reinforcing that emotional suffering and the habit that produces it. So in mindfulness we learn how to change our relationship to any emotions that are creating pain. You learn how to form a conscious and non-reactive relationship with them. That's the most important first step in helping them heal. So we do this by meditating on our emotions.

We bring the emotion into the mind. Imagining it, but on purpose and on our terms, which is quite different than the normal habitual reaction. We look at it and the first thing we look for is the constellation of reactive thoughts, habitual reactive thoughts, that feeds the anxiety or depression.

So thoughts are essentially a form of fuel that feeds the emotional suffering. Thoughts to not cause anxiety or depression, they feed it. Now when we learn how to see these thoughts clearly then we can begin to change our relationship to them and overcome this habit of identifying with those thoughts and beliefs that tend to feed the underlying suffering.

So breaking the habit of reactive identification is a key feature of mindfulness training and therapy. We can hold the emotion in the mind. We can hold the constellation of thoughts in the mind and not become overwhelmed by them, not become a prisoner of those mental objects. So developing this objectivity is essential for healing and it's a central focus of Mindfulness Therapy. I will train you how to do this.It Is really quite surprising. It's not that difficult.

So if you would like to speak with a therapist online via Skype then please send me an email and let's schedule a session.

Talk to a psychotherapist online over Skype for help with anxiety and depression

So if you would like to talk with a therapist online for help with anxiety depression, addictions or any other psychological emotional problem that can benefit from psychotherapy then please do contact me through my website. So I provide online therapy over Skype for anxiety and depression, or OCD, for addictions and many other emotional psychological problems.

Mindfulness Therapy is very effective indeed for helping you break free from those habits that feed anxiety and depression. This is the main focus of training, how to break free from that reactive identification with our emotions, with our thoughts and with our beliefs and also with our memories too.

It's just a habit. The thought or emotion gets triggered out of conditioning, out of habit. And then what tends to happen is that we just fall right into it, right into the grip of the emotion or the reactive thoughts or the memory, if it is traumatic, and then we proliferate that suffering.

So the key, the first step to breaking this habit of reactive identification is to develop mindful consciousness of these habits. Because when you bring consciousness to the habits that takes away their power, because habits only work when there's no consciousness around; they are unconscious by their nature.

So how do you do this? Well we learn how to meditate on our mind. That means meditating on our emotions or thoughts, our traumatic memories, or emotionally charged beliefs, whatever they may be, that are limiting us and creating suffering.

We do not accept these habits. Instead we learn to meditate on them. So that means replaying the emotion, the memory or the thoughts in the mind, deliberately bringing it into the mind, then sitting with that mental object with mindfulness, with consciousness observing it.

And this is the important thing to understand here. The more that you become the Observer, the freer you become from the observed. When you are observing anxiety you become the Observer not the anxiety. So the action of observing consciously actually frees you from the anxiety.

And this is extremely important, to get this separation from the emotion or the thoughts or the memory or any other content of mind. If there's no separation then you simply become a victim of those mental objects. You become consumed by them, overwhelmed by them, a slave to your emotions and your reactive thoughts.

But through deliberately training with them using mindfulness meditation we develop more and more freedom from those habitual thoughts and emotions. So that's really important.

When you have established sufficient freedom, then you can begin to respond skillfully to help any unresolved emotion heal, and that's the second, primary component if you like of Mindfulness Therapy or mindfulness meditation therapy. We learn how to respond with compassion to any emotional suffering that we experience in the mind. We help it heal. We help it heal by establishing a conscious compassionate relationship with that part of ourself that's in pain.

And this is very much like a parent-child relationship. You can think of the emotional pain, whether it's anxiety or depression or guilt or shame or anger or poor self-esteem, whatever it might be, you can think of it as being like a child. The child is in pain. Your job is to develop your consciousness as a parent to that child to help it heal.

So that's part of mindfulness meditation training, and I will teach you how to do this in great detail. It's not just a question of reading a book about this; it's not just feeling inspired and then struggling with it. No. You need very specific guidance and training on how to do this. But this approach works.

So please, if you're interested in learning more about online therapy via Skype, then simply email me. If you would like to get started and start learning how to use mindfulness to work with your emotional suffering then e-mail me. I look forward to meeting you and helping you. Thank you.

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional psychotherapist and I offer online therapy over Skype.

Many people like to talk to a therapist over Skype rather than in-person because it is more comfortable as well as more convenient.

If you are suffering from anxiety, for example, then you will probably find it much more effective to talk to a therapist over Skype than in person because you will be more comfortable and open to incorporating the changes and advice that the psychotherapist offers you.

So, this is one of the main reasons why I have chosen to specialize in online therapy over Skype, because it is more effective for most people, especially if you are suffering from anxiety. But I also offer therapy over Skype for depression, and Skype therapy for addictions as well.

The same kind of principles apply here - People suffering from depression are often uncomfortable talking about their depression to a psychotherapist in-person. So, being able to talk to a therapist over Skype is going to be much, much easier for you.

Also, people suffering from an addiction are often uncomfortable talking about their addiction in a group format. So, having private sessions with an online therapist can be much more effective there as well.
