Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional online therapist. If you would like to talk to a therapist online, the best way to do that is to find a therapist who offers Skype therapy sessions. Skype allows you to talk in real time and it's really equivalent to meeting face-to-face in the therapist's office, but of course, it's much more convenient for you because you don't have to leave your home or office, or if you are traveling it's much easier to talk to a therapist via Skype and continue your sessions wherever you live.

So, talking to a therapist through Skype is one of the most effective ways to get ongoing help for managing difficult emotional problems such as chronic anxiety, depression, and also for help with addictions as well.

Many of my clients live abroad or they live in the rural areas of the US and find it difficult to find a local therapist to help them work with anxiety, depression, addictions or other emotional problems.

So, if you are interested in learning more about talking to a therapist online via Skype, do please visit my website, which is counselingtherapyonline.com, and also visit my YouTube channel and subscribe and learn more about the Mindfulness Therapy approach that I offer via Skype.

People search for this form of therapy as an alternative to the older style of talk therapy, which may help with relieving symptoms but it does very little to change the underlying cause of your anxiety, depression or addiction. The system of Mindfulness Therapy that I developed many years ago now and talk about in my book, 'The Path of Mindfulness Meditation', is very much focused on helping you change your underlying relationship to the very process that creates anxiety or depression.

The central theme of Mindfulness Therapy is learning how to break the habit of becoming identified and overwhelmed by habitual reactive thinking and by reactive emotions. We tend to get lost in our thoughts and our emotional habits and this simply feeds the emotional problem whether it's anxiety, depression or addiction.

So, that's what I focus on in the online therapy sessions that I offer via Skype. Please feel free to contact me through email and we can discuss further how Mindfulness Therapy and the online therapy approach can help you manage your emotions more effectively. I look forward to hearing from you.

Most of my clients have tried medications and conventional talk therapy / counseling but have not received the relief they want. This is understandable, because mediations and indirect talking about your emotions is not sufficient to change the underlying habitual process that creates and feeds anxiety and depression. You need to address these directly, and this is the focus of Mindfulness Therapy, the approach that I favor and find to be most effective for producing lasting change.

I specialize in mindfulness therapy. Mindfulness is an extremely effective way of changing habits. It allows you to develop a conscious and compassionate relationship with your emotions and with your thoughts. And this is essential. You have to learn how to sit with your emotions and thoughts without becoming identified with them and without becoming reactive. If you can do that then you stop feeding those habits, basically.

And this creates the ideal conditions whereby the habit of anxiety or depression or any other emotional psychological form of suffering will begin to resolve itself. If you don't feed it it will resolve itself. Also if you stop feeding it and you establish a good relationship with your emotions then you're in a much better position to be able to help your emotions resolve themselves.

You learn how to interact with them with more consciousness and more compassion the same way that you might relate to a child or another person who is in pain. If you are reactive you are not going to be able to help them overcome their emotional suffering. You have to be non-reactive in your relationship to them and it's exactly the same with our emotions.

We have to learn to be non-reactive in relationship to our anxiety of fear of panic or depression or obsessions with the ever emotional suffering that you are experiencing. You have to establish a good relationship with them then you can actually help those emotions change themselves and heal. This is one of the central themes in Mindfulness Therapy is building this relationship.

And the second important concept for you to understand is that your anxiety, your depression, your suffering is already trying to heal itself. It's only because of the problem of reactivity that gets in the way of it healing itself. So that's a very important thing to understand. It's not so much us trying to fix or change her anxiety or depression, it's allowing them to change and heal in a natural way by themselves, and the less reactive you become the the more this happens.

Can I talk to a therapist online? - Get help from a professional online therapist

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong. I'm a professional online therapist and I provide online therapy for anxiety for depression, for addictions and other common psychological problems that can benefit from Mindfulness Therapy, which is my specialty.

So I'm often asked, "Can I talk to a therapist online?" and the answer is yes you can as long as you are looking for a therapist that can help you manage your emotional problems using psychological techniques like mindfulness rather than medications. You can't receive prescription meds medications online of course.

However most people who are seeking online therapy have already tried medications and traditional talk therapy usually with very poor results.

Most people who come to me are looking for an alternative to conventional style psychotherapy and medications. They are looking for practical tools for managing anxiety and depression or addiction, and Mindfulness Therapy provides these solutions. It gives you very practical ways of working with your mind. It teaches you how to work with emotions and react to thinking without using medications, and it's very effective indeed.

Most people who work with me can expect to see significant improvements within the first three to four sessions of online therapy. The key is learning how to change the way that you relate to your mind. You have to develop a different relationship with your emotions, that's not based on avoidance or some form of self-criticism or self judgment or even based on some concept that these emotions are irrational.

Emotions are not irrational. They are mental formations that are formed for very good reasons, typically starting in childhood. They just get stuck, basically, and are not able to heal properly.

Mindfulness Therapy gives you the ability to continue the healing process of these emotional formations that have gotten stuck and it does this by bringing conscious awareness to the emotion.

You learn how to meditate on your emotions. This is quite new for many people. Most people are trying to escape their emotions or try to suppress them in some way, but that simply will not work. Those emotions must heal in order for you to be free from anxiety or depression or addiction.

If you'd like to learn more about the Mindfulness Therapy approach for healing emotional suffering, then please contact me so we can schedule an online therapy session.

Like I say, most people see quite substantial changes within the first few sessions of mindfulness training. So if you'd like to learn more about this approach and you like the idea of working with an online therapist because of its convenience, then please email me and we can schedule an online therapy session at a time that works for you.

I see people throughout North America, Canada, Western Europe, the UK and as far away as Japan. So please contact me now.

Talk to an Online Mindfulness Psychotherapist for Managing Anxiety and Depression via Skype

Speak with an Online Therapist via Skype for Anxiety and Depression

Please go to my website if you would like to learn more about online therapy. If you'd like to speak to a therapist online via Skype, then you'll learn on my website exactly what I provide during these online therapy sessions to help you overcome your anxiety or depression or addiction or any other emotional problem that might benefit from Mindfulness Therapy.

So I specialize in mindfulness therapy. This is a style of psychotherapy that I have been teaching for well over ten years now and that I find to be extremely effective for producing healing for anxiety and depression and also for other common emotional problems like driving anxiety, OCD, and also I've had a lot of success with working with people suffering from PTSD and emotional trauma.

The basic concept behind Mindfulness Therapy is not so much just talking about your emotional problems but rather looking in detail at the structure of your emotions and also the relationship that you have with your emotions. These are the two major areas we work on during mindfulness therapy sessions.

We look at the structure and the structure of your anxiety or depression or other form of emotional suffering is very much maintained by a network of habitual reactive thoughts and beliefs as well. These are habitual, they tend to just operate automatically without our choice. They simply feed the anxiety or depression underneath.

So examining that network of reactive thinking is quite essential. And with mindfulness we begin to quite quickly break free from the habitual unconscious aspects of this structure of habitual reactive thinking.

Once you see those thoughts very clearly you can begin to exercise choice and decide not to pursue those reactive thoughts and not to identify with.

You can also learn how to work with the underlying emotion that is feeding those reactive thoughts, the underlying anxiety and depression itself. So this is where we build a relationship with our emotions based on mindfulness, and that means based on compassion.

We learn to see those emotions as being objects that are in pain themselves. Strictly speaking from a mindfulness or Buddhist perspective, it's not you that is suffering it is the emotions themselves. You see these as objects in the mind that are like small fires that ignite and create suffering.

Our job is to change our relationship to these objects so that we can help them heal rather than simply proliferate the suffering through reactive thinking.

So we develop a compassionate relationship with any part of ourselves that is in pain, any emotion that is in a state of suffering. You learn to treat it with kindness, with friendliness and compassion. These are tremendously powerful healing forces. Trying to get rid of painful emotions is a very weak approach that is generally if not always totally ineffective. You have to develop a conscious friendly relationship with your emotions. That is what creates the right conditions for healing.

It takes some training to do this effectively but it's not that difficult. And most people see quite dramatic changes even within the first two to three sessions once they start changing the way they relate to their emotions. Once you start relating to your emotions with mindfulness they will start to change quite rapidly.

We can help that change process. When the emotions are operating habitually in an unconscious state of conditioned reactivity they can change. They can only repeat themselves over and over again. But once you break that unconscious habitual aspect by bringing mindful consciousness to them then they are able to change and heal quite quickly.

So I will train you in how to do this if you choose to work with me. And like I say you should expect to see quite significant changes within the first few sessions. If you would like to get started with me and you'd like to see for yourself how effective mindfulness therapy can be for overcoming and healing emotional suffering, then simply email me and let's schedule a session.

Please contact me if you'd like to get started with mindfulness therapy sessions with me. Thank you.
