Conventional talk therapy can be helpful, but often common talk therapy does not alter the underlying structure that is the real cause of your emotional suffering.

The same can be said for medications - prescription medications may relieve symptoms for a while, but medications can not heal the underlying process that generates your emotional suffering.

The style of psychotherapy that I offer is called Mindfulness Therapy, which is quite effective for controlling chronic anxiety and for treating chronic depression or other emotional issues caused by conditioned reactive thinking. Most people notice significant reduction in the level of anxiety and depression after 3-4 sessions of Skype Therapy.

If you're interested in online psychotherapy and counseling to help you overcome anxiety or depression or an addiction or any other emotional problem, you might consider talking to a therapist online. Being able to talk to a therapist online is really quite an effective way of getting the help that you need to to manage difficult emotional problems. I see clients online on a daily basis and have done so for many years now and it's definitely just as effective to speak to a therapist online as it is to see the therapist in-person.

The focus of the online therapy service that I offer is to teach you practical ways of managing difficult emotions. The principal habit that most people experience is one of becoming identified with emotions and with reactive thoughts. We tend to get lost in these patterns of habitual reactivity that simply feed our anxiety or depression, so the the most essential step in successful psychotherapy is to learn how to break the cycle of reactive identification, to be able to become the observer of your emotions and thoughts without becoming lost in them.

This is essential because if you continue to simply become lost in thoughts or emotions or emotional trauma then you simply reinforce the underlying emotions. During mindfulness therapy, which is what I specialize in, we learn exactly how to do this, how to become the observer and how to develop independence in relationship to our emotions. This is the most important step for producing change.

If you like to see a therapist online and learn some of the mindfulness techniques that I teach to please go to my website and email me. We can schedule a Skype counseling session at a time that works for you. I see people throughout North America and abroad in Europe and the Middle East and as far away as New Zealand. So if you are interested in learning how to overcome the patterns of emotional reactivity and you'd like to talk to a therapist online please email me and we can schedule a session.

People prefer the anonymity and greater privacy offered by online therapy. It makes it much easier for you because you can have your sessions at home, in the privacy of your own home, without having to talk to a therapist in person or visit a therapist's office, which can be a little intimidating to many people, especially if you're suffering from anxiety, depression or addiction. So if you're interested in the online therapy services I provide do please email me and we can schedule a trial therapy session over Skype.

During the trial therapy session, you will see it yourself just how effective this approach is. I offer mindfulness therapy because that's my particular interests and many people seek me out because of my interests and expertise in this area of mindfulness therapy. This is a system that I developed several years ago now, and works very well through Skype.

Really what you need more than anything, I would suggest, is to learn how to manage your emotions more effectively, how to break the habit of becoming overwhelmed by your anxiety or depression or compulsion. And also learning to create the right internal conditions that help those emotional states heal and change.

The real problem for most people is that they become habitually identified with their emotions and that they react to them with avoidance or aversion. So identification, avoidance and aversion are the primary problems that stop anxiety and depression from healing.

Mindfulness is the opposite. It teaches you how to develop balance in relationship to your emotions and thoughts. It teaches you how to break that habit of becoming identified and overwhelmed. It teaches you how to develop greater conscious awareness, which is what emotions need in order to heal. And it teaches you how to develop non-aversion, or friendliness towards those emotions that are trying to heal within you.

When you push your emotions away they will not heal. It's only when you actually learn to develop a friendly and therefore a conscious relationship with them that they can heal. And in most cases they heal quite quickly and in direct proportion to how friendly you are with your own emotions. We all know the importance of facing your emotions.

Well, when you develop friendliness to your painful emotions you are increasing the benefits of that wise advice many, many times over, because friendliness increases conscious engagement with whatever you are friendly towards, and this is precisely what anxiety and depression needs. It needs your friendliness and your consciousness in order to heal.

So if you are looking for greater privacy and you are interested in the anonymity of online therapy and if you're interested in the mindfulness approach, I invite you to email me and let's schedule a trial therapy session. Thank you.

See an online therapist for help with anxiety & depression

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong. I'm a professional psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of anxiety and depression and also addictions using mindfulness therapy. So if you'd like to talk to a therapist online and you like the Mindfulness Therapy approach then please contact me and we can schedule a Skype Therapy session.

All my therapy sessions are via Skype. It's very important that you use Skype or face time so that you can see each other. If you can see each other then the communication will be much better and is really just as good as meeting a therapist in person, especially if you are interested in an approach like Mindfulness Therapy that's focused on teaching you practical ways of working with your anxiety and depression or other emotional conditions yourself.

This is the focus of Mindfulness Therapy. It Is about empowering you, giving you the tools to work with difficult emotions that need healing, and I will teach you during our online therapy sessions how to use mindfulness to promote healing of anxiety, depression and other forms of emotional suffering.

So the mindfulness approach is really one of building conscious attention around the emotions that are bothering you. It's about turning towards your anxiety or depression rather than trying to run away from them. The avoidance reactions are quite natural and common, but unfortunately if you avoid the emotional pain it cannot heal. So since our mission is to heal anxiety or depression we must generate more conscious awareness around the emotions that are in pain.

We effectively see those emotions as being what they really are, which is mental objects. They are habits that get triggered and appear in the mind when they are triggered as mental objects. We learn to relate to them in that way as mental objects instead of becoming identified with them.

So we do this by meditating on our emotions. We place them as the primary objects of meditation so they become an object of meditation. And this reinforces our freedom from reactive identification with those emotions. If you are able to observe them then that position of being the observer is free from the emotion, is not conditioned by it.

Whether that's anxiety or depression or anything else it's habitual in nature. It becomes established as a conditioned habit. So our first job is to see that habit clearly and restore consciousness to it because habits cannot thrive when they are illuminated by conscious awareness.

The second approach that we cultivate when we meditate on our emotions is the response of compassion. So this is taught in a very specific way in the Mindfulness Therapy system that I have developed over the years. This is a process whereby we develop compassion towards that specific emotion itself as an object.

It's rather like the relationship between a parent and a child. You can think of the emotional object as being like a child. It's conditioned. It has a limited consciousness and it's not very good at healing its own pain. It requires a parent to help in that healing.

One of the primary methods that we employ for healing emotion, besides establishing this relationship as parent and child, which is of course very healing in itself, is by developing awareness of the imagery that is behind the emotion.

So seeing that imagery is very important because once you see it consciously then you can help it change. When the imagery changes the emotion changes and this actually is the primary mechanism through which emotions heal naturally. In our mindfulness work we are simply speed up this natural healing process.

So if you're interested in mindfulness and the mindfulness approach for healing emotional suffering and you'd like to schedule online therapy with me, then please contact me and we can schedule an online therapy session at a time that works for you. I see people throughout the world. All you need is a good internet connection and a quiet place for your sessions and then we can begin. So please contact me. Thank you.

If you'd like to speak with a psychotherapist online for help with anxiety or depression or addiction or any other emotional problem, then you might want to go to my website and learn more about the online psychotherapy service that I offer via Skype.

So being able to speak to a psychotherapist online offers a lot of advantages, of course, one of which is simply convenience. It's much easier to schedule online therapy than having to travel to see a therapist in their office, and so on,.

The other reason I think that people like online psychotherapy is because it's also much more comfortable for you because you can conduct your therapy sessions from the comfort of home or other place that works for you. And being in familiar surroundings makes you much more able to receive the teachings that I give and to manage your emotions using the mindfulness based techniques that I teach online. Being comfortable is really important.

Another advantage of online therapy is it gives you a greater sense of power, of being in charge of your recovery process and this can be very important indeed.

I don't like the treatment based models of psychotherapy and I don't like medications either because one of the effects of treatment based approaches is that it makes you feel more like a victim, a helpless individual who has to go to some authority for help, and that's not going to help your recovery process, it is actually counterproductive.

You need to feel empowered. And a good psychotherapist will certainly help you feel that way. How to learn how to manage your emotions more effectively by yourself, not to become dependent on some treatment protocol. This is very important for working with anxiety and depression as well. You need to learn how to work with your mind how to work with your emotions and particularly with your habitual thoughts patterns. Because if you don't really learn how to work with your mind you will always be vulnerable to emotional suffering.

So during the online therapy sessions that I teach, I will be showing you how to apply mindfulness to work with your emotions and your thoughts. The mindfulness approach is extremely effective, especially for anxiety and depression and other intense emotions.

I also work a lot with trauma. So mindfulness based trauma therapy is extremely effective because it allows you to learn how to process your traumatic memories without becoming overwhelmed and re-traumatized.

Mindfulness Therapy is all about learning how to form a stable and non-reactive relationship with your mind, with your emotions, with your thoughts, with your memories, and everything else that constitutes the content of mind. Developing this ability to be present as the observer instead of becoming lost in the content is an absolutely vital part of good psychotherapy.

So if you would like to learn more go to my website and if you would like to speak to a psychotherapist online and you like the idea of working with me then please send me an email and we can schedule a Skype session at a time that works for you.
