Online Psychological Counseling via Skype

Online Counseling via Skype

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to schedule Online Psychotherapy sessions via Skype with me.

During these Skype counseling therapy sessions I will teach you how to use mindfulness for healing all forms of anxiety, including Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder, OCD, depression, and for help with and other forms of emotional and psychological suffering, by using the very effective teachings of Mindfulness-based Psychotherapy.

This approach is very effective and most clients notice noticeable recovery after the first few online sessions with me.

Online Mindfulness Psychotherapy is highly effective for controlling anxiety and depression without the need for anti-anxiety medications and antidepressants. It is far better to treat the underlying psychological cause of your emotional suffering as opposed to just suppressing symptoms.

The main healing factors cultivated during Mindfulness Therapy are Conscious Awareness, which is necessary for overcoming the reactive habits that cause emotional suffering, and Inner Compassion, which is what allows healing and resolution of anxiety and depression.

"I changed more after 2 weeks of online counseling than after 2 years of talking therapy. My anxiety used to affect every part of my life. Now I feel alive again and enjoy life so much more. I thoroughly recommend this mindfulness therapy to anyone looking for treatment for anxiety or depression."

Psychological Counseling Online via Skype for Help with Anxiety & Depression

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I provide therapy online over Skype. Many people like the convenience of online psychotherapy because it means that you can manage your own therapy process from home without having to leave home and go to a therapist's office. This is much more conducive to making progress, in my opinion, because you feel more in control. It's less intimidating and it's just much more empowering for you to be able to have your therapy sessions at home.

If you are interested in learning more about therapy online through Skype, do please contact me through my website.

So, the style of therapy that I offer, which works extremely well online, is called Mindfulness Therapy. The whole focus of Mindfulness Therapy is to teach you very effective, practical ways of managing your anxiety or depression.

This means looking at the underlying structure of your emotions. What do I mean by the structure of emotions? Well, every emotion is associated with some form of underlying imagery. An emotion is created by the way that we see the emotion or thought in the mind.

If, for example that imagery is very large then that will produce very intense feelings. If the imagery is positioned above us in our inner psychological space then we will feel overwhelmed. That's why we use terms like feeling overwhelmed or feeling that your emotions are getting on top of you, feeling weighed down by your anxiety or depression, etc. These are visual phrases referring to a visual psychological process.

So, this is a very important area that we explore during Mindfulness Therapy sessions. We want to see this imagery, because when you can find out more about the structure of that imagery then you have choices, then you can begin to change that imagery in a direction that leads to change in the emotion.

When you change the imagery you change the emotion.

Then you can literally feel that you are getting on top of the situation, you are getting on top of your emotions, because we see our self on top of the emotion. That is exactly what is happening psychologically. Now we can take charge of that process by bringing mindful concentration and conscious awareness to examine the structure of our emotions.

So, this is one part of the mindfulness-based online therapy that I offer.

Another part of the mindfulness therapy process is learning how to change your relationship to your emotions, entirely, so that you are not compelled to identify with those emotions and become a prisoner of the emotions that get triggered. It is learning to break free from those emotional habits and this is made possible more consciousness of those habits. the more you illuminate emotional habits, the less power they have, the more the imagery will change, and the more you will feel the sense of choice, of freedom in relationship to those emotions.

So, those are two of the processes that we explore during mindfulness therapy, and each of these sessions can be very powerful, indeed, in helping you fundamentally change the inner landscape of your emotions.

If this interests you, do please CONTACT ME and let's schedule a Skype therapy session.

Online therapy is becoming very popular these days and there are now many online therapy sites to choose from, but very few offer this quality of mindfulness therapy that I provide online.

So, if Mindfulness Therapy interests you, contact me and schedule a session through Skype and see how it works for you.

Online Counseling Sites - Effective Help for Anxiety & Depression

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I'm a professional psychotherapist and I specialize in online therapy that I provide over Skype for the treatment of anxiety and depression and other emotional problems without the use of medications.

This is not a medical treatment. This is a form of psychotherapy called mindfulness therapy that I've developed over the years and found to be particularly effective for anxiety and depression. So I'm often asked is online therapy as effective as in person therapy? And the answer is yes it is, certainly.

For the vast majority of people online therapy is just as effective as therapy in person, especially if you use Skype or similar video platform so you can see each other. That's the key ingredient. You must be able to see each other to really have good communication which is so important for effective psychotherapy. So if you can see each other then in my opinion there is no appreciable difference between online therapy and therapy in the therapist's office.

Now online therapy does offer some advantages. Clearly it's more convenient for you the client, because it means you can conduct your therapy sessions from home or from work or even in your car. All you need is a quiet place and a good internet reception and then you can conduct online therapy.

So people like the convenience, and people living in remote areas or for people living abroad, if you're based in a foreign country, you may not have access to the right kind of psychotherapist. And so online therapy gives you greater options for getting the kind of help that you are looking for from managing emotional problems such as anxiety or depression or addiction.

A lot of people like the greater privacy offered by online therapy. You don't have to wait in a therapist's office or similar public environment like that. You can conduct your sessions in the privacy of your own home and that's a big factor especially if you are struggling with a difficult set of emotions that you might be experiencing such as with depression or with addiction. So that greater level of privacy from your point of view is often just what we're looking for.

The other advantage of online therapy is that it's more comfortable for you as well. It's much less intimidating than the more typical clinical based therapy that's offered in a psychotherapist's office setting. From my point of view, my philosophy, is that we want to make psychotherapy as comfortable as possible. It should not be clinical in nature.

I personally do not advocate a medical approach for treating anxiety or depression. Medications may have some value in controlling symptoms but medications will do very little indeed to change the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression or addiction. That requires the right kind of psychological help, working with the underlying habits that cause your anxiety or depression or other emotional problem.

So the style of psychotherapy that I specialize in and find works best for the vast majority of people online is mindfulness therapy. This is a particular system of psychotherapy that I've developed over the last ten years or more that really focuses on working with those underlying habits which are primarily based around habitual reactive thinking.

So anxiety and depression are habits. They are learned habits. We are not born with anxiety or depression. We acquire these habits through time and often through trying to cope with emotional trauma in childhood. It's very common as a common starting point for the anxiety habits of the depression habit. Addiction often flows from that underlying anxiety or depression.

So we work on these habits very, very systematically in a focused way. We learn to dis-identify from the reactive thoughts. We learn to establish a healing relationship with the emotions based on compassion, which is a very important part of mindfulness teaching in general.

So if you'd like to learn more about Skype counseling therapy for anxiety or depression. If you would like to start sessions with me, then reach out to me by email. Simply contact me through my website and we can schedule a Skype counseling session at a time that works for you.

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I provide psychotherapy through Skype as an alternative to conventional in-person office sessions.

From my experience with working with clients, particularly people who are suffering from anxiety or depression, I find that Skype therapy is just as effective as office-based sessions. In fact, many of my clients say that they actually prefer online psychotherapy because it is, obviously, more convenient, but it is also more private for you and less intimidating. It means you can stay at home and have your therapy sessions in the comfort of familiar surroundings. Also, it means that you don't have to take on the challenge of leaving home if you are suffering from agoraphobia or social anxiety or other form of anxiety that makes it very difficult for you to leave the house.

So, psychotherapy through Skype is very effective in deed and many of my clients really benefit from this approach. If you would like to learn more about psychotherapy over Skype, do please simply go to my website and then EMAIL ME and then we can schedule a trial Skype therapy session.

It's an excellent solution for most people who want to take charge of their healing process, without the use of medications or a medical-based approach.

Skype therapy is much more about teaching you specific practical methods, based on mindfulness, which is my specialty and which I write about in my book, 'The Path of Mindfulness Meditation', for overcoming the underlying process that generates anxiety or depression for most people.

So, if you are interested in a different approach, in which you are more in-charge of your recovery process, please go to my website and email me.

Online Psychological Counseling Sessions through Skype

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional online therapist. I provide online therapist sessions to help you work with anxiety, depression, addictions or any other emotional issues you may be struggling with.

During these online therapy sessions I will teach you mindfulness-based approaches for working with emotions. What does that mean? Well, that means that we learn how to overcome our habitual patterns of reactivity: emotional reactivity or cognitive reactivity. We learn how to break free from these automatic patterns that simply feeds our anxiety or depression.

This is very important, indeed. Until you start to become conscious of these habits, they will never change, they will continue to operate out of consciousness like any other habit. It's only when you start to really illuminate your emotional habits with conscious awareness that they begin to change. Then you can begin to re-establish independence from those habits and you can re-establish a sense of choice in relationship to those habits.

So, developing consciousness is the most important thing in Mindfulness Therapy. It is not about talking about your emotions; that is not going to change that underlying habit. What changes it is when you can develop real conscious awareness, conscious presence, with that emotion. When you can be with it without reacting, then change becomes possible. In fact change becomes inevitable and the emotion will begin to change itself, or you will be able to help it change itself in that condition of consciousness.

Mindfulness, basically, is simply a form of direct engaged consciousness. That's how I define it in my book, 'The Path of Mindfulness Meditation.' It is learning to be right there with your emotion, but without thinking about it, without reacting in any way, without judging the emotion; without criticizing yourself, without getting lost in patterns of reactive thinking.

Any form of reactivity simply has the effect of reinforcing the emotion. Breaking free from those patterns of reactivity will stop feeding that emotion, and if you stop feeding the emotion then the emotion has to change. You create the right conditions in which it will begin to transform itself.

So, learning to be conscious, learning to be the observer that sees the observed, in this case, the object that you see is the emotion, the emotional object, the mind object. This is what we focus on changing through conscious awareness, through mindfulness.

You train yourself to become that Observer instead of becoming the reactive entity of the ego, or Little Self, as we sometimes call it, and other forms of emotional suffering. They are all, primarily, emotional habits, and habits thrive on the absence of consciousness. They operate out of consciousness. When you bring them into consciousness they lose their power entirely.

So, our thinking habits, our belief habits, and our limitations. Limitations are simply conceptual habits that we place on our self. They are not real, they do not exist; they are created by the mind. But they are very real in their effects when they operate out of consciousness. We become prisoners of our thoughts, our emotions, our beliefs, our concepts.

So, mindfulness is all about the process of liberation, of becoming free from our prison and this process of freedom is catalyzed by awakening, awakening consciousness. Learning to be with our emotions, our thoughts, our memories, our pain, our traumas, our anger, our hatred. Whatever it might be, learning to be with those mental objects consciously means that we become free from those mental objects. They cannot hurt us as long as we remain conscious. They only control us when we become unconscious.

So, this is a little bit about Mindfulness Therapy, which is what I offer as an online therapist. If you would like to learn more about Mindfulness Therapy and the online therapy process, do please contact me through my website and we can schedule a trial therapy session for you.

All you need is Skype and PayPal for secure online payments and you are ready to start. So, please contact me with your questions and let's schedule a Skype therapy session.
