Find an Online Therapist for Help with Anxiety, Depression or Addictions

My name is Peter Strong, and I am a professional mindfulness therapist specializing in Buddhist psychotherapy, which, of course, focuses very much on changing the process that creates your anxiety, depression, addiction, OCD or PTSD.

The focus in this approach is helping you really change the way you relate to emotional habits like anxiety or depression. The problematic relationship is where that relationship is built on habitual reactive patterns of AVOIDANCE and AVERSION, patterns of turning away from our emotional suffering, turning away from our painful emotions, turning away from our anxiety, turning away from our negative thoughts and beliefs.

Wherever there is aversion and avoidance, then the problem begins. The real problem is that these reactive patterns, these habits of avoidance and aversion, prevent the anxiety or depression or underlying emotional habits from changing and from healing. They cannot change if we continue to be reactive towards them, if we continue to avoid our emotions, if we continue to react with resistance, struggle and hatred towards our mind. That will simply make those emotional habits stronger.

So, if you would like to talk to a therapist online who specializes in mindfulness psychology and you would like to talk to a psychologist online, then please go to my website and learn more about the mindfulness approach and how it can help you, and then email me to schedule a Skype therapy session.

The mindfulness approach is very focused and practical. It s quite different than conventional talk therapy. Talk therapy in general, talking about our emotions, may bring about a temporary relief from the symptoms. You may feel better, but that feeling doesn't last because we are not changing the underlying emotional habit and the patterns of avoidance and aversion that are feeding that emotional habit.

The same goes for medications as well. Medications have their place, but only as a short-term way of reducing the intensity of the emotional pain. Medications are not designed to change that underlying psychological process that causes your anxiety, depression or addiction.

From my experience, this approach of mindfulness is the most effective way of producing fast changes in emotional habits and many of my clients see substantial improvements after the first 3-4 sessions. It is quite a different way of working with your mind.

So, now it's possible for you to talk to a therapist online to get help with anxiety or depression or addiction or any other emotional problem that's causing problems in your life.

It's very easy to get started, all you need is Skype or Zoom and a good internet connection and then you can schedule a Skype therapy session with me. I see people throughout North America and Western Europe and as far away as Australia.

People contact me because they are particularly interested in the Mindfulness approach that I teach. Mindfulness therapy is immensely effects for anxiety and depression, particularly.

During these sessions which, I usually hold once a week, I will teach you very practical and very effective mindfulness-based methods for working with your emotions. The most important thing that we have to change is the way that we relate to our emotions.

Typically, we become identified with our emotions, they consume us, they overwhelm us, they basically cause us to become very reactive and this is a habit. This is a habit called reactive identification. It's the first thing we work on during mindfulness therapy sessions.

We need to, basically, break this habit so that you do not become overwhelmed by your emotions, that you can establish a stable and non-reactive relationship with your emotions. We call this learning to sit with your emotions. This is crucial when you have learnt how to do this, then you create the right conditions for the emotion to change and heal itself. But, also when you have a stable and non-reactive relationship with your emotions then you can help them heal. We do this through a variety of techniques.

One of the most effective and powerful aspects of mindfulness therapy is learning to develop a friendly and compassionate relationship with your emotions. This is absolutely essential for their healing. We must get over the habit of reacting with hatred or avoidance towards our emotional pain. We must instead learn to embrace it, because only then can you help it heal.

Much of the healing happens through this relationship, which we call the relationship between the True Self, your true self, and the emotion the Little Self. This alliance is very much like the alliance between a parent and a child in a healthy family. When the child feels secure it grows in a healthy way and learns how to manage its well-being by itself, it develops its own true self in that environment.

This is how we must treat our emotions, rather like we would treat the child with discipline, that's not becoming reactive, but also with love, which helps the emotion change and heal.

I am a Professional Online Therapist and I specialize in Mindfulness Therapy, as described in my book, "The Path of Mindfulness Meditation." Mindfulness Therapy is an amazingly effective way of helping you break free from habitual patterns of emotional and cognitive reactivity.

It is based on the observation that change and transformation only become possible when you can establish a positive relationship with your anxiety, depression, stress or other emotions based on awareness and compassionate friendliness (this is mindfulness). This creates the right internal conditions that promotes transformation and healing.

The principle is simple, but it takes training to overcome our conditioned habits of avoidance and aversion towards painful emotions. However, once you establish the MIndfulness-based relationship with a painful emotion, it begins to heal quite quickly, and this is why people generally see faster results with Mindfulness Therapy than with traditional talk therapies.

When you are looking for an online therapist do make sure that he or she answers all your questions about the type of psychotherapy that they offer and what you can expect. You need to find the right therapist for you and one that you feel comfortable with.

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional Online Therapist. My specialty is Mindfulness Therapy and I offer Mindfulness Therapy online via Skype.

This approach is gaining tremendous popularity, and it's an extraordinary way of working with emotional problems such as anxiety, depression and stress.

The great strength of the mindfulness approach is that it help you develop what we call a non-reactive relationship with your emotions and negative thoughts or patterns of cognitive reactivity that generate anxiety, depression or stress.

It is so important to be able to literally "sit" with your emotions instead of avoiding them or fighting them or running away from them. You need to establish a relationship with your emotions if they are to change.

With mindfulness we learn how to establish this relationship with our emotions. We learn how to bring a quality of awareness and friendliness, or compassion, to our emotions. This create the ideal inner conditions that leads to healing and transformation.

We all know that reactivity, avoidance and aversion will not help an emotional condition like anxiety heal. It can only heal when you bring this quality of mindfulness to the emotion. We learn to become friends with the emotion, and this is what promotes healing.

So, there's a lot of detail to Mindfulness Therapy. If you would like to learn more, please visit my website and please contact me. We can schedule a Skype Therapy session and see if this is an appropriate choice for you to help you overcome your anxiety, depression or stress. So, please go to my website and send me an email. Speak to a Psychotherapist online through Skype or Zoom

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong. I'm a professional psychotherapist based in Boulder, Colorado, USA and I offer online therapy via Skype.

So, if you would like to speak to a therapist online through Skype and Zoom, then please go to my website and learn more about this online therapy service and feel free to contact me via the Contact Page and ask any questions you may have about the online therapy service that I provide.

Online psychotherapy is a very good choice if you use Skype. You need to use a video platform like that so you can see each other. Being able to see each other greatly enhances the quality of communication, which is clearly very important for effective psychotherapy.

If you can see each other, then there's really no difference at all between online therapy using Skype compared to meeting in person with a psychotherapist. So that is one of the reasons why I recommend that if you are considering speaking with a therapist online that you make sure that you can do it using Skype. Then it is a very good choice and it's a very good way of getting non-medical help for the treatment of anxiety and depression.

So I work a lot with people suffering from agoraphobia, for example, who can't travel to see a therapist in their office. So that is one of the advantages of being able to get access to a therapist without leaving home.

I also work a great deal with people suffering from some form of driving anxiety or highway driving phobia. Quite a large number of people are not able to drive to see a therapist.

Not surprisingly, I also see a lot of people abroad, living in areas where they don't have access to a psychotherapist.

I also work with people in small communities where you may want the greater privacy offered by online therapy. That's another one of the advantages of speaking to a therapist through Skype; it is very much more confidential and greater privacy offered.

The other advantage of online therapy is that it is generally a lot less expensive when compared to meeting in person. Although typically you're not able to get insurance reimbursement for online therapy. And I don't work with insurance companies, I provide a non-medical service.

But for many people, they actually prefer not making a medical insurance claim because they prefer not having it on their records.

So there are lots of different reasons for seeking private psychotherapy. But the main thing is whenever you're selecting an online therapist, that you make sure that you ask questions and that you have some sort of guarantee that the quality of psychotherapy is going to be effective for you. So I would never pay up front for online therapy, but I would also not recommend that for in-person therapy either.

You want to see results as the first important thing. And that's why I choose to offer a satisfaction-based guarantee for all my online therapy services. And there's no upfront fee. Maybe you don't like the therapy, you don't find it useful, then there's no fee.

So the style of psychotherapy that I provide online is called Mindfulness Therapy. And this is a very good way of working with anxiety and depression without resorting to medications. In fact, I really discourage the use of medications because medications are not going to treat the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression.

They may be useful on a short-term basis for controlling symptoms, but that's hardly enough. You have to really work on changing the underlying psychological cause of your anxiety or depression or or any other form of emotional suffering. So that is the prime focus of Mindfulness Therapy. It's a way of helping you change the relationship that you have with your emotions.

And so healing or transforming that underlying psychological process is what Mindfulness Therapy is all about.

So if you would like to schedule some online therapy sessions with me over Skype or Zoom, then please contact me and we can find the right time that works for you.

I see people worldwide, mostly in the United States, but also in Western Europe and further away, as far away as Australia.

So please contact me if you are interested in really healing your emotional suffering by using Mindfulness Therapy. Thank you.
