During these sessions of Mindfulness Therapy I will teach you how to apply mindfulness, including mindfulness meditation for facilitating recovery from all forms of anxiety, including Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder, OCD, persistent depression, and addiction, including alcohol addiction and other emotional problems, by using the very effective techniques of Mindfulness-based Psychotherapy.

This approach is extremely effective and most clients notice noticeable improvements after 3-4 sessions with me.

Online Mindfulness Therapy is very effective for controlling anxiety and depression without the need for medications. It is far better to treat the psychological cause of your anxiety or depression as opposed to just trying to manage symptoms.

The principle healing factors developed during Mindfulness Therapy are Consciousness, which is essential for overcoming the reactive habits that cause emotional pain, and Inner Compassion, which is what promotes healing and resolution of emotional pain.

"I unreservedly recommend engaging Peter’s services in, what has been for me, an extremely effective method of learning about my inner self in ways that I’ve never been able to achieve before."

Traditional talk therapy can be helpful, but often it does not transform the habitual psychological process that creates your anxiety and depression.

The same can be said for medications - the drug may reduce symptoms for awhile, but medications will not transform the underlying psychological process that causes your anxiety or depression.

The style of psychotherapy I offer is known as Mindfulness Therapy, which can be very powerful for handling anxiety and for treating depression as well as other psychological issues where there's an underlying process of reactive thinking.

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I provide psychological counseling online for help with common emotional problems such as anxiety and depression or addiction or compulsive thinking or any other form of emotional reactivity that is affecting the quality of your life.

I specialize in Mindfulness Therapy, this is a non-medical approach that teaches you how to change those habitual patterns of reactive thinking that feeds your anxiety or depression or addiction.

This is the key to successful psychotherapy in my opinion, you need to form a very stable and conscious relationship with your emotions. Our habit is to avoid painful emotions, but avoiding them simply strengthens them. Also, excessively indulging in the emotion, becoming overwhelmed by the emotion, becoming identified with the emotion also feeds the emotion.

What we learn during Mindfulness Therapy is how to sit with your emotions without feeding them. If you don't feed them they begin to change, and that change is inevitable, they will change if you don't feed your anxiety or depression or addiction. You learn to sit with your emotions, you learn to explore that relationship. You learn to identify all of the different forms of reactivity to your emotions and you learn to overcome that reactivity to your emotions, so that you can sit completely still in relationship to your anxiety, depression or other painful emotions. When you do this you create the right conditions in which that pain will start to resolve itself.

This is what we focus on during the psychological counseling sessions that I offer online. If you are interested in learning more about Skype therapy and psychological counseling using mindfulness then simply go to my website and send me an email and when you are ready we can set up a session via Skype and you can see for yourself just how effective the mindfulness approach is for overcoming emotional reactivity such as anxiety and depression.

Talk to an Online Mindfulness Psychotherapist for Help with Anxiety and Depression via Skype

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I'm a professional online therapist specializing in Mindfulness Therapy for the treatment of anxiety and depression, OCD, panic attacks and other emotional problems that don't require medication. If you'd like to talk to an online therapist to help you overcome anxiety or depression I encourage you to contact me. Go to my website and learn more about this online therapy service and then reach out to me by email and we can discuss in more detail how Mindfulness Therapy can help you.

So, talking to an online therapist is becoming very popular as an alternative to traditional in-person psychotherapy. One of his greatest advantages is, of course, it's convenience. It means that you can conduct your therapy sessions from home, and that convenience also brings a great deal of comfort for you. It means that you feel more at ease and are better able to learn the principles that I will teach you during our therapy sessions together.

So, during therapy sessions I will teach you very practical and very effective mindfulness-based methods of working with emotions, of working with anxiety and depression or addiction or any other emotion that is causing suffering.

The first principle that we will explore together is how to apply mindfulness for working with difficult emotions, how to actually meditate on your emotions, how to establish a conscious relationship with your emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them and without becoming caught up in those patterns of habitual reactive thinking and rumination that feeds anxiety and depression. This is a very powerful skill to learn.

It takes some training but with good guidance you can learn how to change the way that you relate to your emotions and this is quite central to change. If you keep reacting to your anxiety or depression or impulses, n the case of an addiction, then you simply feed that emotional suffering. But if you can sit with an emotion without reacting to it then you stop feeding that emotion. You take the fuel away and then the emotion is able to change and heal according to its own nature.

All emotional suffering is already trying to heal itself. This is a property of emotional suffering. You can think of it as being an energetic state that is unstable, that is out of balance, and anything that is out of balance in Nature always tries to come back to a state of energetic balance.

This is a fundamental principle and it's very strong in living beings, in ourselves. We run on that principle of what we call "homeostasis." The mind and the body adjusts to states of instability, being out of balance, and or injured in some way, and always tries to bring it back to balance, to stability, to that sense of well-being in the body and mind.

So, this principle of homeostasis works in the mind as well as the body. And this is why we say that emotions are already trying to heal themselves, to come into a state of balance. But they cannot heal if you feed them with reactivity. So the first principle of mindfulness training is learning to sit with your emotions without reacting. And then we can actually begin the process of healing that emotion, whatever it is. The healing happens when we create a non-reactive and safe space around that emotion, if you like.

So this principle is one of the most fundamental principles in Mindfulness Therapy, the system of psychotherapy that I developed some years ago. And you'll see many different versions of mindfulness-based therapy out there, including mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and they're all slightly different.

But Mindfulness Therapy or Mindfulness Meditation Therapy, as I originally called it and talk about in my book, is learning to be with your emotions without reacting and then interacting with your emotions in a way that facilitates their healing.

So if you'd like to learn more about Mindfulness Therapy and you'd like to talk to an online therapist, if you would like to use that medium for getting the help that you need for overcoming your anxiety or depression, please email me.

Can I talk to a Psychotherapist Online?

It's very easy to get started, all you need is Skype and a good internet connection and then you can schedule a Skype therapy session with me. I see people throughout North America and Western Europe and as far away as Australia.

People contact me because they are particularly interested in the Mindfulness approach that I teach. Mindfulness therapy is immensely effects for anxiety and depression, particularly.

During these sessions which, I usually hold once a week, I will teach you very practical and very effective mindfulness-based methods for working with your emotions. The most important thing that we have to change is the way that we relate to our emotions.

Typically, we become identified with our emotions, they consume us, they overwhelm us, they basically cause us to become very reactive and this is a habit. This is a habit called reactive identification. It's the first thing we work on during mindfulness therapy sessions.

We need to, basically, break this habit so that you do not become overwhelmed by your emotions, that you can establish a stable and non-reactive relationship with your emotions. We call this learning to sit with your emotions. This is crucial when you have learnt how to do this, then you create the right conditions for the emotion to change and heal itself. But, also when you have a stable and non-reactive relationship with your emotions then you can help them heal. We do this through a variety of techniques.

One of the most effective and powerful aspects of mindfulness therapy is learning to develop a friendly and compassionate relationship with your emotions. This is absolutely essential for their healing. We must get over the habit of reacting with hatred or avoidance towards our emotional pain. We must instead learn to embrace it, because only then can you help it heal.

Much of the healing happens through this relationship, which we call the relationship between the True Self, your true self, and the emotion the Little Self. This alliance is very much like the alliance between a parent and a child in a healthy family. When the child feels secure it grows in a healthy way and learns how to manage its well-being by itself, it develops its own true self in that environment.

This is how we must treat our emotions, rather like we would treat the child with discipline, that's not becoming reactive, but also with love, which helps the emotion change and heal.

Talk to a Therapist Online for Help with Anxiety and Depression

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional online therapist. I offer online therapy over Skype for helping you overcome anxiety and depression and also for working with addictions, too.

So, as an online therapist, I specialize in providing very practical methods and techniques that you can apply yourself between therapy sessions. This is the most important thing that you should be learning from a therapist, any case.

It should not be considered as a treatment option, because that doesn't give you any skills that you can apply yourself. Good psychotherapy should not be regarded as a treatment, but rather as a way of teaching you more effective methods for working with anxiety and depression.

I specialize in Mindfulness Therapy, which is extremely practical and very effective for anxiety and depression. It teaches you how to change those underlying habitual patterns of reactive thinking that produce anxiety and depression.

Most of these habits are subconscious and not something that we are aware of most of the time. We are aware of the anxiety and depression, but not of the actual habits that create the anxiety and depression.

Mindfulness Therapy is very much about uncovering these habits and then changing them. It's actually much easier than you may think to change anxiety and depression. The key is to look directly at the underlying process that is producing that emotional suffering. If you do that, then the changes you make will be very direct and very effective.

So, Mindfulness Therapy gives you the tools to change the way you feel and to help you establish a much stronger sense of well-being in your life.

If you would like to learn more about Mindfulness Therapy and you would like to work with an online therapist such as myself, then please simply go to my website, learn more about online therapy over Skype and then email me and we can schedule a Skype therapy session. Thank you!

Speak to a therapist online via Skype for help with anxiety and depression

Talk to a Psychotherapist Online via Skype

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong. I'm a professional psychotherapist. I live in Boulder Colorado, but I offer online therapy worldwide to anyone who's interested in mindfulness therapy. That's my specialty, that's what I have developed over the years and found to be most effective for treating anxiety and depression and other common emotional and psychological problems that don't require medical treatment.

It's obviously very convenient to do online therapy. It means you can have your sessions from home or even from work without having to travel to see a therapist in their office. Many people also prefer the greater sense of privacy that you have when you are able to conduct your psychotherapy sessions from home. It feels more comfortable, it's less intimidating, less clinical in nature.

The whole focus of mindfulness therapy, which is style of psychotherapy that I teach online, is to teach you how to work with your emotions using mindfulness and develop very effective and practical methods of working with difficult recurring emotional suffering and also with intrusive thoughts or any other form of emotional suffering that you're dealing with.

We want to learn to develop tools to manage our emotional well-being. It's much preferable to do this than it is to rely on medications or other treatment based approaches. Medications and treatments may provide a temporary relief from symptoms but it's not going to change the underlying psychological process that's producing your emotional suffering.

Mindfulness Therapy is a very effective approach. It is the next step up from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT. So CBT is good because it helps you learn how to manage thoughts. But the question is what is it that drives those thoughts to be so powerful in the mind? What is it that makes those thoughts intrusive and what is it that causes those thoughts to feed more and more anxiety or depression?

And that is what we address in mindfulness therapy. So thoughts themselves are not a problem and the same goes for beliefs. Beliefs in themselves are not the problem.

The problem is this, if you like, compulsive energy that feeds those thoughts or beliefs and that's what we focus on with mindfulness therapy, because when you can neutralize that compulsive energy then the thoughts and beliefs drop away upon themselves and are replaced quite naturally by more positive thoughts and beliefs. The only thing that keeps them stuck is this unresolved emotional energy that's feeding those thoughts and beliefs.

So we change this by learning how to identify that compulsive energy which is usually based around fear. So we find that fear and we learn to develop a very mindful and that means a very compassionate relationship with the fear itself. We focus on helping that fear resolve and heal. When it's resolved and healed then it no longer fuels the reactive thoughts and rumination and worrying and obsessive thinking that fuels your anxiety or depression.

We learn to develop a relationship with our emotions by actually meditating on our emotions.

Most of us spend our time running away from our emotions. We don't like painful emotions. we don't like anxiety or depression or fear. But if you avoid your fear it will simply grows stronger or it will not heal. If you try to suppress your fear, the same, it will not resolve, it will not heal. It's more likely to grow.

But when you bring conscious mindful and compassionate awareness to your fear then you create the correct conditions that allow that fear to heal. So we build a very strong internal conscious relationship with our fear and we do this through the medium of meditation. We meditate on our fear. This is what helps it heal.

If you would like to learn more about Mindfulness Therapy and the mindfulness approach to healing your anxiety or depression without using medication and without having to spend years in conventional talk therapy then please email me so we can schedule an online therapy session.
