Looking for an online therapist?

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I'm a professional online therapist specializing in Mindfulness Therapy for the treatment of anxiety and depression, OCD, panic attacks and other emotional problems that don't require medication. If you'd like to talk to an online therapist to help you overcome anxiety or depression I encourage you to contact me. Go to my website and learn more about this online therapy service and then reach out to me by email and we can discuss in more detail how Mindfulness Therapy can help you.

So, talking to an online therapist is becoming very popular as an alternative to traditional in-person psychotherapy. One of his greatest advantages is, of course, it's convenience. It means that you can conduct your therapy sessions from home, and that convenience also brings a great deal of comfort for you. It means that you feel more at ease and are better able to learn the principles that I will teach you during our therapy sessions together.

So, during therapy sessions I will teach you very practical and very effective mindfulness-based methods of working with emotions, of working with anxiety and depression or addiction or any other emotion that is causing suffering.

The first principle that we will explore together is how to apply mindfulness for working with difficult emotions, how to actually meditate on your emotions, how to establish a conscious relationship with your emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them and without becoming caught up in those patterns of habitual reactive thinking and rumination that feeds anxiety and depression. This is a very powerful skill to learn.

It takes some training but with good guidance you can learn how to change the way that you relate to your emotions and this is quite central to change. If you keep reacting to your anxiety or depression or impulses, n the case of an addiction, then you simply feed that emotional suffering. But if you can sit with an emotion without reacting to it then you stop feeding that emotion. You take the fuel away and then the emotion is able to change and heal according to its own nature.

All emotional suffering is already trying to heal itself. This is a property of emotional suffering. You can think of it as being an energetic state that is unstable, that is out of balance, and anything that is out of balance in Nature always tries to come back to a state of energetic balance.

This is a fundamental principle and it's very strong in living beings, in ourselves. We run on that principle of what we call "homeostasis." The mind and the body adjusts to states of instability, being out of balance, and or injured in some way, and always tries to bring it back to balance, to stability, to that sense of well-being in the body and mind.

So, this principle of homeostasis works in the mind as well as the body. And this is why we say that emotions are already trying to heal themselves, to come into a state of balance. But they cannot heal if you feed them with reactivity. So the first principle of mindfulness training is learning to sit with your emotions without reacting. And then we can actually begin the process of healing that emotion, whatever it is. The healing happens when we create a non-reactive and safe space around that emotion, if you like.

So this principle is one of the most fundamental principles in Mindfulness Therapy, the system of psychotherapy that I developed some years ago. And you'll see many different versions of mindfulness-based therapy out there, including mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and they're all slightly different.

But Mindfulness Therapy or Mindfulness Meditation Therapy, as I originally called it and talk about in my book, is learning to be with your emotions without reacting and then interacting with your emotions in a way that facilitates their healing.

So if you'd like to learn more about Mindfulness Therapy and you'd like to talk to an online therapist, if you would like to use that medium for getting the help that you need for overcoming your anxiety or depression, please email me.

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional psychotherapist and I offer online therapy over Skype.

Many people like to talk to a therapist over Skype rather than in-person because it is more comfortable as well as more convenient.

If you are suffering from anxiety, for example, then you will probably find it much more effective to talk to a therapist over Skype than in person because you will be more comfortable and open to incorporating the changes and advice that the psychotherapist offers you.

So, this is one of the main reasons why I have chosen to specialize in online therapy over Skype, because it is more effective for most people, especially if you are suffering from anxiety. But I also offer therapy over Skype for depression, and Skype therapy for addictions as well.

The same kind of principles apply here - People suffering from depression are often uncomfortable talking about their depression to a psychotherapist in-person. So, being able to talk to a therapist over Skype is going to be much, much easier for you.

Also, people suffering from an addiction are often uncomfortable talking about their addiction in a group format. So, having private sessions with an online therapist can be much more effective there as well.

If you would like to learn more about talking to a therapist online over Skype, simply go to my website and learn more about online therapy. When you feel ready, contact me. Simply email me and I will be happy to answer any questions you have about the online psychotherapy process.

If you would like to schedule a Skype therapy session with me, simply email me and we can arrange for a trial Skype therapy session. A trial session is a very good way of assessing if this is the right approach for you. So, please email me and schedule a Skype therapy trial session now and I will be happy to help you overcome anxiety, depression, addictions or any other emotional problems that you may be struggling with.

So, I look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Professional Online Therapist and I specialize in Mindfulness Therapy, as described in my book, "The Path of Mindfulness Meditation." Mindfulness Therapy is an amazingly effective way of helping you break free from habitual patterns of emotional and cognitive reactivity.

It is based on the observation that change and transformation only become possible when you can establish a positive relationship with your anxiety, depression, stress or other emotions based on awareness and compassionate friendliness (this is mindfulness). This creates the right internal conditions that promotes transformation and healing.

The principle is simple, but it takes training to overcome our conditioned habits of avoidance and aversion towards painful emotions. However, once you establish the MIndfulness-based relationship with a painful emotion, it begins to heal quite quickly, and this is why people generally see faster results with Mindfulness Therapy than with traditional talk therapies.

When you are looking for an online therapist do make sure that he or she answers all your questions about the type of psychotherapy that they offer and what you can expect. You need to find the right therapist for you and one that you feel comfortable with.

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional Online Therapist. My specialty is Mindfulness Therapy and I offer Mindfulness Therapy online via Skype.

This approach is gaining tremendous popularity, and it's an extraordinary way of working with emotional problems such as anxiety, depression and stress.

The great strength of the mindfulness approach is that it help you develop what we call a non-reactive relationship with your emotions and negative thoughts or patterns of cognitive reactivity that generate anxiety, depression or stress.

It is so important to be able to literally "sit" with your emotions instead of avoiding them or fighting them or running away from them. You need to establish a relationship with your emotions if they are to change.

With mindfulness we learn how to establish this relationship with our emotions. We learn how to bring a quality of awareness and friendliness, or compassion, to our emotions. This create the ideal inner conditions that leads to healing and transformation.

We all know that reactivity, avoidance and aversion will not help an emotional condition like anxiety heal. It can only heal when you bring this quality of mindfulness to the emotion. We learn to become friends with the emotion, and this is what promotes healing.

So, there's a lot of detail to Mindfulness Therapy. If you would like to learn more, please visit my website and please contact me. We can schedule a Skype Therapy session and see if this is an appropriate choice for you to help you overcome your anxiety, depression or stress. So, please go to my website and send me an email. Thank you!

Can I talk to a Psychotherapist Online?

If you'd like to talk to a psychotherapist online through Skype I invite you to go to my website and learn more about the mindfulness based psychotherapy that I offer through Skype.

Mindfulness psychotherapy is a very effective approach for helping you manage anxiety and depression without using medications. As you well know medications may provide a temporary relief from symptoms but medications are not going to address the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression or other form of emotional suffering.

That underlying cause is psychological in nature. Essentially it's a habit. We develop habits based around fear. That's probably the most common core emotion behind anxiety and depression and many other of our problems. We become embroiled in this inner fear which then takes on many different forms as reactive thinking, other forms of emotional reactivity and also behaviors based around fear like avoidance and hatred and also addictions as well, another kind of behavioral reactivity based on fear primarily.

So when we are working with our emotions we work on changing this fear. We try to establish a relationship with that part of us that is in fear that is experiencing fear. We learn to comfort that we learn to help it heal, which can only happen when you esstablish a very strong conscious and compassionate relationship with your fear.

When you do this you provide the right vehicle that allows that fear to begin to heal itself. When you establish a really good mindful relationship with your fear then the rate of healing is greatly accelerated.

Mindfulness is all about building this quality of compassionate and non-reactive relationship with your mind, with your emotions, with your thoughts, with your beliefs, with your memories, whatever constitutes the content of your mind. We build a relationship with that content using mindfulness. It's really a way of establishing a non-reactive conscious awareness and this is absolutely essential for healing.

When you bring mindfulness to fear or anxiety or depression it begins to heal and that rate of healing is greatly accelerated, as I said. So during sessions I will teach you how to use mindfulness to do this. How to actually meditate on your emotions, to meditate on that fear. That's the most important practical skill that I will teach you.

You have to learn to actively engage with the fear, but not become overwhelmed by it. And that is the first purpose of meditating on your fear. It is learning how not to become overwhelmed by your fear, how not to become reactive and how not to allow that fear to propagate into cognitive reactivity or further emotional reactivity or behavioral reactivity.

So that's essential. We learn to build or non-reactive relationship with our fear and then we help it heal through the medium of compassion. Now compassion here is specifically helping that emotion change in a direction that helps it heal. How we do that is something that we open up to discover through meditating on the emotion. We learn what is effective in helping it to heal.

The most effective thing we can do is to build a non-reactive relationship to it. This is the equivalent of being like a parent to a child. A child is suffering but the parent doesn't react to that suffering. Instead he or she responds to that suffering with compassion and responds in a way that helps that child relieve his or her suffering.

So that's what we have to do internally. We have to become like a parent to our emotional pain and to our fear, to our anxiety, to our depression. Whatever it is we have to build that parent child type relationship. That's the first essential thing we must do if we want it to heal.

If we try to avoid it or we try to talk it away or we distract ourselves through some practice or other or through drugs or alcohol, that will not create the right relationship and it will not heal the underlying fear, and usually you will end up amplifying that fear.

So meditation is central. Learning to be with your fear without reacting and with compassion. Now this is a skill. You will have to work on this, but I will teach you in great detail exactly how to do this.
