Hi BBC,
The hike for tomorrow is cancelled due to road conditions and weather. Simon and I were out scouting this morning, and it wasn’t safe—flurries are expected to continue overnight. In some areas, the roads are covered in deep snow, and the snowbanks are so high that even when it isn’t snowing, we were caught in a whiteout. Baie du Dore is frozen over, and the distance to open water is beyond scoping. We did spot some eagles along a sheltered forest edge, away from the strong winds near the lake, but overall, bird sightings were scarce. Given the conditions, I think it’s best to avoid traveling on the roads as a group.
Stay safe!
Cheers James
