Hi Everyone,

We had a good turn out for the OFO conference weekend, had some good social times, shared some meals together and saw some spectacular birds. We birdied the Leamington area from Friday to Sunday.

The weather was extremely windy with up to 80 K winds, with rain at times. The poor weather brings in good birds and it brought in some birds that we as a group, in our area, had little hope of ever seeing - the Sabine’s Gull and Laughing Gull - and everyone saw them. I have to say, a flying Sabine’s Gull is a spectacular thing to see. Bob and Anne-Marie has shared a picture of the Laughing Gull in an earlier email. If anyone has photos of the Sabine’s Gull, we would be interested in seeing them as well.

Here is an incomplete list of the birds we saw. I am not interested in updating any birds left off. Too much effort on my part, going over lists. The birds missing, we probably have on our record for the year anyway. We saw 103 species of birds and probably more if the list was totally complete.

Take care,

Fred
