Greetings BBC ; The group was met with a day that was both glorious in the sun and chilling in the wind . The bird of the day must certainly be the lapland longspur as it was seen at so many different locations , some coming well within camera range . Snow Buntings and Horned Larks were continually flying off the shoulders of the road . The gulls were well represented by four species and the typical feeder birds rounded out the day .The catbird lived up to it's shy personality and moved to the next yard when we all arrived at my house. Glad and sorry to say it was back for it's apple treat five minutes after everyone was gone . All in all a pretty fine day .Nice to see everyone .James
Late note; Judging by Johns picture I am more convinced the mystery duck is a ring necked duck . I will have to spend some more time on this bird.
