Hi Everyone,
Judy and Norah arranged a great day for us finding the seasonal winter birds we savour to see at this time of year. Common Redpoll, Pine Siskin, Rough-legged Hawk, Snowy Owl, American Tree Sparrow, etc. The woodpeckers also put on a good show today with Red-bellied Woodpecker and Hairy Woodpecker turning outing in unusual numbers. Thank you, Judy and Norah for creating an enjoyable outing for us.
The temperature in my car at the start of the day was - 19 C, but the cold did not stop us from enjoying each others company and the winter birds we were happy to find. Winds were light, the day had mostly covered sky with some sun breaking through on occasion. Considering the snow cover and the temperature, we and a good number of birds for the day - 30.
