Thank you, Alfred Raab for leading us on a great hike today. Tough hike to lead as there were 39 of us enjoying the day. Alfred focussed on some great birds that he knew the whereabouts of, and we looked for them, found most of them, and in the end we tallied up 72 species of birds. Some of the birds we were happy to hear or see were two Sandhill Crane babies, Broad-winged Hawk, Mourning Warbler, the rare for our area, Hooded Warbler and an Upland Sandpiper. We were entertained by Brewer’s Blackbird on the way to Isaac Lake and finished the day with a Sedge Wren in full view that everyone saw for a wonderful finale. What a cooperative bird he was and what a great day!

The weather was sunny, light winds, and a high of 20 C.
