HI Everyone,

We had a pleasant day today with a good turnout with 25 people coming out for the event.  I think we should take our walkie talkies when we get out of our cars since some good birds are not being communicated to others when we tend to get strung out.  The Red-bellied Woodpecker comes to mind

Some excellent birds were seen today.  A Jaeger (probably parasitic), American Pipit, Northern Shrike, our first of the season Snow Buntings, a pair of late migrating Black-bellied Plovers, a beautiful soaring mature Bald Eagle and Scoters and a Long-tailed Duck adding to the mix.  We were short of land birds but that can be partly expected because it is late in the year.  51 species were seen not counting the Jaeger

The weather was grand with sun, manageable winds on the waterfront, and a high of 18.
