Hi Everyone,
Thank you Judy for leading this hike today taking us to Tiny Marsh. We had a great time, a lot of laughs and enjoyed the birds we saw.
Most of the waterfowl are still in eclipse phase and provided us with some good discussion as to who was who and where were the male ducks? The other points of discussion were Trumpeter Swan Immature vs. Tundra Swan Immature, and was that distant bird an American Robin, a Merlin or an American Kestrel. The bird was far away, had taken a water bath, feathers were dishevelled, and was drying on a branch. There was no scope with us, and views were indistinct. And so it goes with the birding club as we discuss, laugh, change our minds and decide. Oh yeah, it was a Merlin.
The two not so solitary, Solitary Sandpipers gave us great views.
The weather was sunny with some mixed cloud and temperatures varied from 16 to 19 C. The winds were moderate.
