Trip Leader: Bonnie
Hosts: Bonnie and Wayne hosted 41 people at their home. Thank you both for your generous offering of great hospitality and accommodation to your friends. The friendliness and the warmth was pleasurable for all of us. From 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, you provided a venue that made for fantastic birding and feasting. And you have provided this for us for many years now. Wow!
The food was incredible and beyond anyone's ability to eat all that was offered. Thank you to all for contributing the great meals we all enjoyed.
Also thank you to Margaret for keeping the day's totals, to Alice for always having coffee on hand and to the small but unofficial clean crew.
Participants: Fred, Wayne, Bonnie, Judy and JIm, Dave and Jean, John and Brenda, Margaret, Liz, Ralph and Mary Anne, Carole, MIke, Norma, Stewart, Arlene, Norah, Alice and John, Liz, Bruce, Doug and BJ, Jim, John and Kay, Mike, Vickie, Judy, Kerry, Melitta, Marilyn, Joan, Bob and Linda, Lionel, Tanya, Cindy, Becky,
It is difficult to pick up some of the highlights on the birding day. The American Woodcock has been our most consistent performer year after year and has to be the star of the day. Each year he has been last on stage, never missed a performance and has always gladly entertained us by displaying his courting ritual.
The temperature varied from + 2 to +11 C, the sky was overcast most of the day and their was a very light rain at the end that did not interfere with the Mr. Woodcock's performance.
We saw 75 species of birds on the day.
