HI Everyone,

Sixteen of us braved the heat and the trip to Mitchell in our search for shorebirds. We were not disappointed in picking up 10 of them, with the bird group of the day being 9 Short-billed Dowitchers. The Least Sandpipers and the yellow legs were in good numbers. Over all, between the ride up and back, the West Perth Wetlands, and the stop at the Kincardine Lagoons, we saw a total of 49 species.

Thank you Eric for all the work you do for us on your end, preparing us for what we will see by your scouting, and your leader ship. We particularly enjoyed your pointers on telling the shorebirds apart and your comments on the tertials.of the SBDO that we saw.

The temperatures soared to 32 C. and the sun made the day day seem hotter. The winds were light and the sky was fairly clear. The shade of the Kincardine Lagoon pathway was appreciated by all.
