Hi Everyone,

We had a good number of people who participated in our BBC hike yesterday. The bird of the day, for the eBird list, was the White-crowned Sparrow.  If you lived north of Kincardine the Tufted Titmouse provided for some group excitement. Another find that drew attention was a Barnacle- Cackling Goose hybrid spotted and identified by Kiah Jasper.  Hopefully, a few pictures of this bird will be shared in the near future.

Hike Leaders: James and Simon Turland

Participants: Becky Grieveson, James Turland, Simon Turland, Judith King, Fred Jazvac, Kiah Jasper, Alessandra Wilcox, Bill Hatten, Lynn Beaton, Cathy Bailey, Margaret Anderton, Norma Nanni, Carole Lupton, Jim Punnett, Judy Duncan, Susan Weaver, Bruce Edmunds, Tim Hammond, Jackie Hammond, Rob Wray, Stephen Cumming, Carrie Cumming (22)

We had a very warm welcome from Becky Grieveson who happily shared her home with us,  Thank you, Becky!  We also got to share a wonderful soup prepared by James for lunch.  James, your soup as always was delicious. Thank you.

We saw 40 species of birds under the guidance of James and Simon. (See eBird List below). For a wintery March, you would have to agree that is a very good number of birds to see.

The weather provided a good birding day with sunny skies and temperatures of about 2 C.

Please see, James’ eBird list below for locations visited and birds seen.
