Swans at Grand Bend. Photo by Marilyn Ohler
Hi Everyone,
We took a long trip to Grand Bend today to look for 3 species of birds, one of which we did not find - Redheaded Woodpecker. We did manage to see the other two sightings we were looking for. We seemed to pick the right day to find the "Spectacle of Tundra Swans”, possibly 10.000 of them. The third species we were seeking was Tufted Titmouse seeing at least 10.
We saw a total of 36 species of birds today. We lacked seeing many, migrant waterfowl because we didn’t visit habitat where they could be found. Today’s list of birds seen is below.
Birds Seen En route
Red-tailed Hawk
Turkey Vulture
Wild Turkey
American Robin
Redwing Blackbird
European Starling
Bald Eagle
House Sparrow
