Hi BBC; The morning started off with seasonally expected birds being seen but a couple of early Swifts seen in the parking area were a treat. We next viewed the Lagoons from the advantage of the old dump mound. Several species were noted including Ruddy Duck, Greater Scaup and a flyby Caspian. The mound is now habitated by grassland species such as Savannah Sparrow and Meadowlark. Showers threatened so we stuck close to the cars but as the weather allowed we ventured forth to great sites. Many firsts of the year were experienced such as Yellow, Chestnut-sided and Nashville warblers. A flock of Baltimore Orioles was enjoyed as they feasted upon sumac. In the afternoon Swainson's Thrush and Great-crested Flycatcher gave us good views. In total 75 species were seen at the Kincardine Lagoons. We dispersed at 2:30 and we may well add to this list if participants saw anything on-route. Thanks to all those who came to enjoy Pelee North. Cheers James & Becky
