Twenty-Three of us showed up to enjoy a great day of birding with James. Thank you James for your excellent leadership and knowledge that you share with us so freely. James treated us to a fine day of birding showcasing 63 species. Some of the highlights were witnessing a Peregrine Falcon unsuccessfully chasing birds in Chalmer’s Pond, the Cackling goose found at the end of the day at the Ripley Lagoons, two Surf Scoters found in the Kincardine Lagoons and a Lincoln’s Sparrow found near James’ House. Too many good birds to list here.
The weather was overcast at first and turned into a sunny day. The temperatures ranged from 14 to 23 C. The winds were light at first and were quite brisk at the end of the day.
