Thank you, Marshall and Wanda for having us over for lunch. We enjoyed your hospitality, friendlessness, and the birds that you provided for us while we were there. Thank you, Marshall for filling in for Bonnie and for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us. You took us to a couple of spots the BBC has never been to before which led us to seeing 76 species of birds. With many passerine species still to come, we did see more than our share of what is out there.

The Pectoral Sandpiper and the Upland Sandpiper were first of the year birds that we enjoyed and were happy to find. They along with Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Wilson Snipe, Solitary Sandpiper made the shorebird put smiles on our faces. We saw a surprisingly number of waterfowl, 16, and had one mystery bird that teased us with a brief look, but revealed itself in a photo by Bob Taylor as a Cliff Swallow. In the envy department, those of you who say the Vesper Sparrow had some of us turning green.

The day was sunny and the temperatures got as high as 9 C. The winds were moderate art about 20 K.

What a great day to go out birding and enjoying the company of good people.

Take care,

Fred
