Thank you to Dave and Jean for scouting our route. We missed you both today and hope that Jean has had her ankle set and wish her a speedy recovery. Thank you to Carole and Norma for finding the leucistic Red-tailed Hawk on Bruce Twp. Road 1 across from Keyser's Fruit Farm. It was the highlight of the day for many of us. It turned out to be a good if not a record raptor day with 6 Snowy Owls, 8 Red-tailed Hawks, 5 Bald Eagles, 2 Rough-legged Hawks, 5 American Kestrels and a Merlin. We saw a total of 29 species.
Conditions: Cloudy with a low of 1C and a high of 2C.
We travelled east from Southampton to the B Line and then south for several kilometers at which time we began driving the east/west concession roads. Lunch was at Marty's in Paisley.
