HI Everyone,
It was a cool and windy day that we had to bird in, but the fun, laughs, and camaraderie we shared that day, overcame any problems we had with the weather. Over 40 people attended this event that was made possible by Nancy and Stewart. Thank you, Nancy and Stewart; without you, this day could have never happened. Your preparation and generosity was appreciated by all of us Thank you, again.
Also, thank you to Doug Pedwell, for his incredible organization in having us traipse all over the Bruce Peninsula, in separate groups looking for birds, solving riddles as well as organizing the food for the barbecue and pot luck. A mammoth, intensive preparation job. Thank you, Doug. I hope with all your effort, you were able to sleep the deep sleep of satisfaction last night, because things went so so well.
And thank you to Peter Richards who contributed the whole day, in a very necessary way, looking after the cottage, setting things up for us, and helping with the cleanup and cooking, that made things happen seamlessly for the rest of us. Your efforts did not go unnoticed. Arlene, you found yourself a good man, indeed.
To Chef, Ed Nanni, thank you for your barbecue skills that fed the masses, all done under the duress of having to wear a Toronto Maple Leaf apron.
Mike Pickup, thank you for compiling the the list of birds that is found below. I, in particular, appreciate you doing that.
And the Food. Wow!. What a great eclectic array of delights that we were presented with. It was a feast to see and experience.
The temperatures varied between 9 and 12 C. The day was mostly cloudy with some sun in a day with high winds.
Take care,
Fred

Here is a list for today's outing around the central Bruce Peninsula centred at Stu and Nancy's cottage at Berford Lake. The weather in the morning was overcast and cool about 8 degrees Celsius. As the day went on it warmed up to maybe 12 degrees and the clouds disappeared. Our potluck supper was great and wrapped up the birding season for the Bruce Birding Club. Happy birding to all and will see you around the county and again in August. I am sure Fred will send this out to club members so you can all see what was seen for the day. The list was tabulated from Doug's list at the supper.
