HI Everyone,

Twenty-three people went on on the outing today and it had a major surprise for us. We found a new record for the club - a Yellow-headed Blackbird, a first year juvenile that we speculated that got blown in by the high west winds we had for 2 days. It was found by Arlene

. It was a very cooperative bird standing as close as 5 feet and was seen by everyone who made it out to the muddy wet fields of Oliphant Beach. In total we found 45 species on the day.

The ducks were interesting being in eclipse phase and provoked some entertaining discussion, some still unresolved.

The winds were brisk and the day varied with some sun, some cloud cover and a light short rain. The temperature varied between 15 and 21 C.

Did I say we found a Yellow-headed Blackbird today?

Thank you Arlene Richards for keeping our bird list for us and noticing the Yellow-headed Blackbird.
