Ripley Lagoons is a sanctuary for geese and ducks from which they range out to the adjacent field for grazing. As many as 18 different waterfowl species have been counted here on a single visit. The edges attract an occasional shore bird the rarest of which was a Wilson's Phalorope in 2005. In 2012 three juvenile Red-necked Phalaropes gave me some close up views. There is plenty of parking near the soccer fields. A new trail runs the west edge of the lagoons and has promise as a location for forest and grassland species. http://ebird.org/ebird/canada/MyEBird?cmd=lifeList&time=life&locID=L1441762,
