Hi All; Quick summary of the Kincardine Christmas Bird Count. Minus temperatures, strong winds and snow hampered participants almost all-day. Visibility was poor and birds were hunkered down out of sight. Of the 51 species recorded most were observed in lower than average numbers. Contradicting the trend, the 498 Goldfinches set a new count high. One Baltimore Oriole feeding on peanuts at Ralph and Mary Ann Knowles' is a new species. Afterwords everyone attended Chez Becky for mingling, meal and tally. Thanks to all, for contending with the wintry conditions and making this a great day. Cheers James
