Discussion boards are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will participate in 4 Discussion Board Forums, each spanning across 2 modules/weeks. First, the student will answer the forum question(s) in a thread of 400–500 words. Second, the student must reply to 2 classmates’ threads (in 200–250 words each).
THEO 510 Journal Article Critiques (2)
The student will select 2 peer-reviewed, scholarly journal articles on 2 different topics. The topic for Journal Article 1 is on the discipline of biblical theology. The topic for Journal Article 2 is on the discipline of systematic theology. The student will write a 2-page, double-spaced critique for each article that adheres to current Turabian style.
THEO 510 Research Paper on a Select Topic in Contemporary Theology
There are 3 parts to this assignment:
Research Paper: Topic
The student will select a Topic in contemporary theology.
Research Paper: Proposal
The student will complete a Research Paper Proposal containing the following components: a cover page, a working thesis statement, the need for the study, the procedure of the study, and a working bibliography. The thesis statement, need, and procedure for the study must total 1–2 pages.
Research Paper: Final Submission
The student will write a 10–12-page Research Paper using the Topic and Proposal previously submitted. The paper must include 7 sections: Cover, Thesis, Table of Contents, Introduction, Body, Conclusion, and Bibliography.
THEO 510 Exams (4)
The student will complete 4 exams throughout the course, which will cover all material from the assigned readings. All exams contain 20 multiple-choice, true/false, and matching questions; are open-book/open-notes; and must be completed in 1 hour. Preparation and study are essential for these exams.
