SOWK 325 Article Review
The student must find a media article that reflects research applicable to a policy topic covered in the assigned module/week’s Reading & Study material and use this article as the basis of a 2-page review. In the review, the student must briefly summarize the purpose of the article, including the policy highlighted and implications for its implementation or lack thereof. The student will also discuss their opinion of this policy and why they are taking this position. The review must follow current APA format and include a title page and a reference page. The title page and reference page do not count towards the length requirement.

SOWK 325 Media PowerPoint Presentation and Peer Review
The student will be responsible to create a presentation based on a policy to class that was featured in a media source within the past 6 months. The student will present the information on the topic in a professional manner for 5 to 10 minutes, utilizing Narrated PowerPoint. Students will post their presentations in a discussion board forum so that a Peer Review of 2 presentations can occur.
The presentation assesses Competency 1-Ethics/Prof. Behavior (values, cognitive/affective processes), Competency 2-Diversity (knowledge), Competency 3-Justice (values, knowledge, cognitive/affective processes), Competency 4-Research (knowlege), & Competency 5-Policy (knowledge, values, cognitive/affective processes).
SOWK 325 Policy Analysis Research Paper
The student will write a 6-8 page research-based paper in current APA format that focuses on analyzing a current policy. The paper must include at least 3-4 reference(s) in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible. This paper will be turned in through 3 stages, including the Topic/Sources, the Paper, and the Fact Sheet.
The paper assesses Competency 4-Research (knowlege), & Competency 5-Policy (knowledge, values, cognitive/affective processes).
SOWK 325 Quizzes (8)
Each quiz will cover the Reading & Study material for the module(s)/week(s) in which it is assigned. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 20 multiple-choice, true/false, etc. questions, and have a 30 minute time limit.
Quizzes assess Competency 1-Ethics/Prof. Behavior, Competency 2-Diversity, Competency 3-Justice, and Competency 5-Policy,(Knowledge/Cog & Affective Processes).
