CLST 113 Discussion Board Forums (2)
Discussion boards are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to write a thread in response to the provided prompt for each forum. Each thread must be at least 150 words, include at least 2 personal examples, and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to at least 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be at least 50 words. No outside sources are required.
CLST 113 Introduction to Aplia
The student will complete the Introduction to Aplia assignment to familiarize himself/herself with the course software.
CLST 113 Weekly Activities
Each module/week, the student will complete an assigned number of activities per the textbook chapters found in the MindTap software. Each activity can be completed up to 3 times, and the highest grade will be recorded.
CLST 113 Paragraph Assignment
This assignment will be completed in 3 parts throughout the course.
Paragraph: Outline
The student will submit an outline of a paragraph using the form provided. The outline will discuss the reason the student chose to obtain a degree from Liberty University.
Paragraph: Prewriting
The student will write a paragraph of 200–400 words based on all of the elements of the paragraph outline.
Paragraph: Final Draft
The student will revise his/her paragraph assignment based on instructor feedback to create a final draft. The paragraph must be 200–400 words and include proper capitalization, spelling, punctuation, word usage, language mechanics, language usage, and sentence structure.
CLST 113 English Assessment
This assessment will assess the student’s ability to find errors in academic and formal English writing, and to select the best version of the underlined part of the sentence. The assessment will also cover reading comprehension and knowledge of the following elements of writing: content, organization, diction, style, and various writing modes. The English Assessment contains 62 multiple-choice questions and has a 1-hour time limit.
