Discussion boards are collaborative learning experiences. the student will complete 1 Discussion Board Forum in this course based upon Bart D. Ehrman, How Jesus Became God and Michael F. Bird, et al., How God Became Jesus. The thread must be 400–600 words, and include support from the Reading & Study material, pertinent examples, critical analysis, and at least 1 biblical principle. The student must also reply to 2 classmates' threads. Each reply must be 400–500 words, and include support from the Reading & Study materials, pertinent examples, thoughtful analysis, and 2–3 references to Scripture. In order to complete THEO 313 successfully, the student will write a 1,000–1,200-word book review of Robert M. Bowman Jr., and J. Ed. Komoszewski, Putting Jesus in His Place: The Case for the Deity of Christ (Grand Rapids: Kregel, 2007). (Outcomes: A, B, C, D)

THEO 313 Research Paper: Thesis Statement, Outline, and Bibliography

The student will submit his/her research paper thesis statement, outline, and bibliography. The bibliography must include at least 10 scholarly sources (excluding course textbooks and the Bible). The thesis statement must be a single sentence, and must present a debatable claim to be defended in the course of the Research Paper. The outline must include the title, major headings, and minor headings. This assignment must be in current Turabian format. (MLO: A, B, C, D)

The student will write a 3,000–3,500-word research paper on an approved topic and in collaboration with the instructor. This assignment must include at least 10 sources, and use current Turabian format. (Outcomes: A, B, C, D)

THEO 313 Tests (4)

The student will complete 4 tests. The tests will consist of a variety of assessment tools including short answer, essay, multiple choice, and true/false questions. Study guides are available for each test. The student will be allotted 60 minutes to complete each test. Each test may only be taken once; multiple attempts are not allowed. Each test is open-book and open-notes. Each essay must be 100–150 words. (MLO: A, B, C, D)
