Discussion Board Forums 1-5 are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each forum. Each thread must be at least 400 words, incorporate at least 1 citation in current APA format, and demonstrate course-related knowledge. Each reply must be at least 200 words and also include academic support.
In Modules 1-4, in addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. In Module 8, in addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 1 other classmate's thread.

There will be specific group counseling videos that need to be reviewed and the skills used in the video reviewed. In addition, where skills are not used that could have been used needs to be discussed. You will complete a specific rating/review form for each of these assignments. ADCN 512 Group Proposal Paper Topic
You will develop a topic proposal paper that clearly articulates what the focus of your Group Proposal Paper will be. Include specific information on what type of addiction group you will be planning (support, psycho-educational, or treatment type of addiction group). Also, discuss what population your group proposal will be focusing on (ex. Adolescents, court-mandated adults, offenders, parents, etc.). This assignment must consist of a 300-word rationale with citations included. See Blackboard for more information.
ADCN 512 Group Proposal Paper
Submit a written substance use Group Proposal Paper for a group you would like to lead in the future. Included in this assignment is learning to describe leadership approaches, screening and selection of group members, selection and use of group methods. This group needs to be for 4 (1.5 hour) sessions. See Course Guides & Assignment Instructions in Blackboard for instructions.
ADCN 512 Quizzes
There are 18 quizzes — 2 per module/week (2, 5, 6, & 7) that cover the Reading and Study, 3 quizzes in module/week 1, 3 and 4, and 1 quiz in module/week 8. The quizzes have 10 multiple-choice questions each and are timed, open-book/open-notes quizzes. Students will have 20 minutes to complete each quiz.
