AVIA 340 Discussion Board Forums (3)

Discussion boards are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will complete 3 Discussion Board forums in this course. Each student will post an initial thread of 400-500 words on the assigned module week for each DB. In addition, the student must then post 2 replies of 250 words on the following Monday (end of the same assigned module week). (Friday for replies and responses in DB #8). These are intended to be scholarly dialogues and for each thread, the student must support his/her assertions with proper scholarly support in APA format with sources listed as References at the end of the post.

AVIA 340 AOPA Certificates and Reflections (4)

The student will complete 4 specific AOPA Weather Wise Online Interactive courses. The student will watch video presentations, interact with them, and then take a quiz for each course. Once the student has passed the quiz successfully, a completion certificate will be e-mailed to him/her from the website. Each certificate will be submitted to the instructor along with a 50-word summary of what the student learned.

AVIA 340 Case Study

The student will submit a 10–12-page Case Study on a weather-related aircraft accident. Current APA format must be used with a minimum of 5 sources (does not include NTSB report) cited.

AVIA 340 Interactive Study Activities (7)

Within each module/week’s Assignments folder, the student will find interactive study activities. These activities are to provide the student with an additional resource to help learn the material covered within this course. The interactive activities will be graded for completion. Each student is HIGHLY encouraged to view the material thoroughly to best prepare for weekly quizzes and course exams.

AVIA 340 Quizzes (2)

The student is required to complete 2 quizzes in this course. The quiz format will be open-book/open-notes and consist of various type questions. The student will have 50 minutes to complete each quiz.

AVIA 340 Final Exam

The student will be given 1 hours and 30 minutes to complete a comprehensive final exam. The exam format will be open-book/open-notes and consist of various type questions, as well as essay questions. The student must provide between 250–300 words in response to the essay question.
